Welcome to another information-packed edition of What Was She Wearing: Answers...Blake Lively
Our Gossip Girl story received such a great response from you guys, that we thought it best to incorporate both Blake and Leighton again in today's WWSW. Lively acts as a constant and worthy canvas for the stylish clothes we see on the show each week (fashion inspiration plus Chace Crawford-what's not to love about GG?). A handful of viewers asked about one jacket in particular that Lively wore in the recent "Roman Holiday" episode. We just so happen to admirer the garment ourselves, so it was our pleasure to track down the specifics. The Charlotte Ronson Leather Bomber Jacket ($518) is available in a great camel color and comes with a faux-fur lined collar. It's the perfect piece of outerwear to utilize as winter transitions into spring. We hear that Lively loved the jacket so much that when filming wrapped she purchased one for herself!
We are always pleased to have newcomers to WWSW and were happy to receive questions about a recent Nicky Hilton outfit. Photographed last month entering a club in Hollywood, Nicky couldn't have picked a more appropriate outfit for a night out on the town. She looked striking in her black and white striped skirt by Preen and wisely kept the spotlight on said skirt by keeping the rest of her outfit black. Unfortunately, the exact skirt is no longer available, but Rachel Pally makes a like-minded piece called the Banded Miniskirt ($167). Currently only the midnight/kelly skirt is in stock, but the black/white one will be available on Shopbop in about a week (meanwhile, the black/white Banded Tube Dress ($220) is purchasable now). As for the rest of her choices, Nicky wore C&C's Classic Tank ($40) and kept warm (it is still January, folks) in a sweet leather jacket by Madison Marcus. The specific jacket Nicky is wearing already sold out, but there are several others still available online, ranging in price from $385-$500. We like the Ruffle Jacket ($416) and the Adornment Cropped ($400), both in gunmetal. While the finishing touches are a bit more obvious, we still wanted to point out she's wearing simple Christian Louboutin Slingback Pumps ($495) and a Chanel handbag and jewelry (prices upon request, 310.278.5500).
While promoting her new PETA campaign in Beverly Hills last month, Eva Mendes exercised her compassion for animals while simultaneously exuding stylish sophistication. Mendes was dressed in three parts Stella McCartney and one part Coach, and the vast majority of Eva's attire is available for purchase online! Beginning with the centerpiece of the outfit, Mendes chose Stella McCartney's boldly colored and flirty Scarlet Boiled Interlock Baccaurea Dress ($1195). As for accessories, she balanced her Faux Leather Thigh-High Boots ($965) with a simple black tote ($895), both designed by Stella McCartney. Mendes topped off her look with a chic Coach Solid Fisherman Cap. It is available through Coach stores, or you can call their customer service line and order it directly ($148, 800.444.3611). For a less expensive version of Eva's look, we scouted out some great alternatives for you. Slip into Fluet's Ava Dress ($178) or Diane von Furstenberg's Beliz Sweater Dress ($275), grab a pair of Victoria's Secret Over-The-Knee Scrunch Boots ($219), and finish the outfit off with the 100% polyurethane Curved Zipped Tote ($70) from Topshop. You'll look just as fashion-savvy as Miss Mendes does at a fraction of the price!
Last, but certainly not least, in our story today, we present the ever-so-lovely Leighton Meester. Clad in a frilly mini frock and a beaming smile, Meester glowed at the InStyle luncheon last week. For the event, Meester chose a Simone by Katie Nehra dress from the Spring 08 collection. The single-strapped Cup Dress ($395) is black with a tiny pattern of white stars on the fabric and looks deliciously spring-y. Put your order in now so that you can wear it as soon as the weather warms up!
