Each year, as the summer draws to a close, we become bored with our seasonal stockpile of lightweight clothes and feel that our outfits (even the beloved ones) look tired. If you share these sentiments, we hope that today's lovely panel of ladies will inspire you to look at your own clothing with fresh eyes and create new pairings. Whether you take Mischa Barton's lead and try something unexpected, like wearing a mini-skirt with fringed boots, or decide to add one of today's identified items to your closet, this edition of W.W.S.W. Answers! is full of pieces that will solve your wardrobe woes!
A few curious WhoWhatWear.com readers spotted Tisdale (who was amidst a coffee run in Hollywood, of course) and wanted to know about her effortlessly refined outfit. We agreed that her outfit was on-point, so here are the answers to those questions! Ms. Tisdale was wearing Diesel's Buchan Blouse ($74), Jordache Constellation Ankle Jeans ($89), and Christian Louboutin's Round-Toe Slingbacks ($540, 310.247.9300) in grey. Without a doubt, our favorite element of Tisdale's look is the highly covetable Rodeo Drive Bag ($3495, 800.550.0005) she is carrying from Chanel's S/S 08 Collection.
We have come to rely on Daisy Lowe for the darling getups she consistently constructs and our readers seem equally enthusiastic about the up-and-coming style muse. We recently received inquiries about the darling ensemble she wore to London's Maya Club in mid-July. Sadly, her Cherry Print Dress from Topshop is no longer in stock, but we think the Cherry Print Corset ($70) will satisfy as a substitute (it's the same pattern)! Lowe accessorized her print frock by matching a pair of cute Repetto's Fillette Mary Janes ($225, 323.856.5872) with a sweet clutch from London's PPQ. For non-UK residents, we found a snazzy clutch alternative-Hobo's Meg Small Patent Clutch ($68)-to suit your fancy. If you're hoping to emulate Lowe's entire look, don't forget to incorporate some color into the black-and-white ensemble by painting your nails bright teal. We like Color Club's Wild Child ($2)!
Nylon's July/Aug covergirl, Mischa Barton, flaunted her sixties-inspired style as she arrived at her New York hotel this past June. The hippie hipster (yes, you read that right) was wearing a Mark & Estel Finished Round U Shirt ($122) and Sam Edelman's Uri Boots ($225, available for pre-order mid-August, shoes.com). To finish an ensemble like this, we suggest checking out Free People's Cheerful Composition Skirt ($108). True, the woven ruffle skirt isn't exactly like the one above, but we still think the tribal style seems very Bartonesque!
Outfit after outfit, Rihanna proves her trendsetting capabilities through sharp garments and daring accessories. She was recently spotted displaying her spirited taste as she left Fred Segal's Santa Moncia outpost wearing some sharp threads. She tucked a James Perse Ultra Rib Classic Long Tank ($45) into Acne's Cherie Studded Pencil Skirt ($399, 212.625.2828), and then slipped into Giuseppe Zanotti's Cut Out Shoe Boots ($795) to add some intimidating inches to her already chic ensemble. If you prefer to spend your money on rent rather than shoes, we recommend Steve Madden's Ginn Bootie ($170) for their similar multi-strap shape to the Zanotti originals. Rihanna completed her outfit with a Chanel necklace (Style #A39263 Y02003, $1675, 800.550.0005) and some super glam Balenciaga Sunglasses (#198487, $420, 212.279.4440). Of course, we found budget friendly options for you to accessorize with-Cara Couture's NY Multi-Strand Necklace ($68) and Forever 21's Multi-Chain Necklace ($6.80) and Metal Sunglasses ($6). -Jessica Amento, with additional reporting by Lily Huber
