If you are anything like us, you surely have a tried-and-true morning routine from which you rarely stray. While ours usually involves coffee, two coats of mascara, and a mad dash to find our car keys, once that's sorted we're free to indulge in our favorite ante meridiem activity: trawling through our inboxes to see what standout styles have caught the eyes of our always-inquisitive readership! Luckily, we also take great pleasure in spending our days researching said requests and gathering our findings for your edification. In the spirit of serving up some serious fashion-for-thought, we are pleased to present today's installment of What Was She Wearing: Answers! And while breakfast may be the most important meal of the day, these four impeccably turned-out ladies will continue to feed your imagination and satisfy your sartorial appetite long after your coffee fix has worn off!

Olivia Palermo
The City's Olivia Palermo looked appropriately polished at the Parson's Fashion Benefit honoring Calvin Klein's Tom Murray and Francisco Costa in New York earlier this month. The fashion-centric fête brought out a bevy of cosmopolitan beauties, but Palermo stood out from the pack by wearing two highly-covetable pieces from Marc Jacobs' F/W 09 collection: the Radzimir Short Puff Sleeve Top ($1100) and the Radzimir Skirt with Irregular Pleats ($865). Sadly, these separates won't be in stores until the end of the summer, but we think the Primrose Embroidery Dress icon ($485) from Marc by Marc Jacobs will stave off any purple-paisley cravings you may have until then! Of course, Palermo racked up some additional style points with her killer accessories, like Roberta Freymann's Tie Dye Scarf Bag ($95, 212.585.3767) and Yves Saint Laurent's Tribute Platform Sandals ($760). For those of you who are crazy about her shoes, but not ready to commit to the high price tag, be sure to check out Gianni Bini Uptown Sandals ($98), which bear a remarkable resemblance to Palermo's pick. To finish off the look, the "social" selected an Armani Exchange's Metallic Cuff-try their Mesh Braided Bracelet ($38) for a similar effect.

Nicole Richie
Even when she's traveling for a professional purpose, Nicole Richie makes it her business to look chic! At the Canadian launch of her House of Harlow 1960 jewelry collection at Toronto's Holt Renfrew department store, the multi-talented Richie wore a vintage gold and black striped sweater dress and a classic pair of YSL Tribute Pumps. Of course, the real stars of her outfit are the House of Harlow 1960 pieces; her selections included the Black Resin Necklace ($125), Gold Medallion Necklace ($85), Black Leather Starburst Necklace ($95), Black Leather Cuff ($120), and Gold Aztec Bangles ($95). Wear them separately for a rich accent, or combine a few pieces to get a variation on Richie's lux look. Though her creations are just a click away, we know a good vintage sweater dress like Richie's is considerably harder to find. You can always spend time sifting through your favorite vintage boutiques to uncover a unique piece (we do!), but for a quicker fix, we recommend Sonia by Sonia Rykiel's Oversized Cotton Sweater Dress ($280) or Diane Von Furstenberg's Ponca Dress ($485) in Spice. Finally, slip Office's Last of the Giants Leather Pumps ($112), which match the always-popular Tribs in style, but are sufficiently kinder on the wallet!

Mary-Kate Olsen
When we opened our inboxes and found multiple requests about Mary-Kate Olsen's outfit at the New York launch event for the Matthew Williamson for H&M capsule collection, we were particularly giddy about getting you the details! Olsen's vintage violet jacket serves as reminder that spring is the time to incorporate colorful outerwear options into your regular rotation. The actress/designer grounded her eye-popping piece with H&M's Asymmetrical Dress ($25, 212.564.9922) and Matthew Williamson for H&M's Studded Belt ($50, 212.564.9922). Of course, if you want to avoid the mob scene that is sure to surround the It-Brit designer's collaboration with the Swedish clothing chain, try Kova & T's Alaina One Shoulder Dress ($330) and Topshop's Premium Boyfriend Blazer ($135), which will enliven your ensemble with a swath of playful plum. To add some dramatic flair, Olsen picked a pair of studded Prada t-strap sandals and a patterned Miu Miu handbag, both from past seasons and, unfortunately, no longer available. But do not fret, dear readers, because we have unearthed some equally outstanding alternates for Olsen's selections. Try Prada's Prada Bronze Mirror Stone T-Strap Sandals ($380) or BCBGirl's Lisa High Heel Sandals ($119) to get a well-heeled look and Lucky Brand's Flutterby Billow Patchwork Tote ($269) for a chic carryall.

Karolina Kurkova
While attending the 8th Annual Spring Fling Party hosted by star hairstylist Harry Josh at the Gramercy Park Hotel in New York, Karolina Kurkova looked seasonally appropriate in a dark denim jumper and Simple Black Ballet Flats ($165) from London Soles. Her Madewell for Shopbop Boilersuit Romper ($150) is the kind of playsuit that should be a staple in any closet-model or otherwise-for the warmer weather months. While Kurkova cinched her onesie with a vintage belt, try tying We The Free's Knot Belt ($48) at your natural waist to create a similarly sexy silhouette. Kurkova finished off her outfit with Hunting Season's glamorous Black Onyx Python Clutch ($1995), but we think J Renee's 8034 Clutch ($89) would also fit the bill. For a final touch, layer a bunch of silver bracelets, like Old Navy's Metal Bangles ($10), or some of your favorite vintage bangles (as Kurkova did). -KM
