Celebrities know a thing or two about beauty products—they have access to the world's most talented makeup artists, after all—but we're always curious about the products they personally use. We had a hunch you might be interested too, so today we're launching the first of our What's In Her Makeup Bag series. Mandy Moore kindly agreed to share her cosmetics kit with you, dear readers, and reveal her must-have items. Moore certainly knows her makeup, so be sure to check out all her essentials!
First things first: the bag! The case that Moore carries is none other than this darling nylon bag from British designer Anya Hindmarch.
Shiseido Foundation Brush ($30)
"This brush is genius and perfect for producing an even, smooth, almost-airbrushed quality if used properly (by just dabbing or stippling your face with the foundation). I especially love using it to clean up my face-- under my eyes, around my nose, lips--once I'm finished with the rest of my makeup."
YSL Rouge Couture Glossy Stain ($32) in No. 9
"I normally wear a super sheer, neutral, natural lip color but lately I've been drawn to bold color and I am obsessed with this product. It's a stain, so the color lasts forever, but it has the perfect texture of a gloss that's not sticky, just shiny and creamy. I bought this color initially and promptly went out and picked up two other colors because I loved it so much."
Tom Ford Cheek Color ($55) in Flush
"It's a happy, coral-y pop of color that makes me smile when I apply it. I'm pretty pale and my face tends to eat color so I need a bright pop to look alive."
Make Up Forever HD Microfinish Powder ($30)
"A little goes a long way. I usually just apply it in my T-zone with a big, fluffy brush or lightly pat under my eyes to set concealer."
NARS Cream Eyeshadow ($24) in Corfu
"My friend/makeup artist Molly Stern introduced this one to me years ago and I've used it ever since. In general, I love the pigment in all NARS colors and this shadow is the perfect barely-there, everyday shadow. It's easy to build on too."
Anastasia Brow Fix Pencil ($21)
"I'm lucky enough to see Anastasia for my brows and then try my best not to mess them up by overtweezing if I can't make it in often enough. I've gotten the hang of maintaining them by using the wax pencil, brushing them into place, and then filling them in with the powder."
RMS Living Luminizer ($38)
"I love that it's organic, lasts forever, and is universally flattering on everyone. I normally put it under my brows and above my cheekbones. The texture is great and easy to build. I love that it's not too shimmery."
Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage ($28) in SC-2
"I normally use this to conceal a blemish or lightly dab under my eyes if I look sleepy. It's the one product that's consistent in my routine no matter what. I haven't found anything that works better over the years."
Tom Ford Beauty Defining Pencil ($35) in Midnight
"When Tom Ford's cosmetic line came out, I bought a substantial amount of the collection and I LOVE it. The eyeliners are creamy, blendable, and come in really sexy colors like Midnight and Metallic Miss (shimmery blue and forest green)."
Sunday Riley Effortless Breathable Tinted Primer ($48) in Light
"I try to take care of my skin because I've never been a fan of looking like I'm wearing makeup, and that definitely applies to foundation. I typically lean towards a base that evens everything out, but is sheer enough that I can still see my skin underneath."
