Spring is the season of fresh starts, and if you're anything like us (read: fashion-obsessed), that means refreshing your worn-in fall handbag for a new one. There's a reason it's called spring cleaning, right? From a lemon yellow shoulder bag with a convenient fold-over flap to a petite purse in a knockout leopard print, this season's chic carriers come in vivid colors and feature irresistibly cool details. In fact, we came across so many covetable options that we decided to flex our sartorial imagination and match each one with the stylesetters who would potentially carry them! Check out some of our favorite spring picks and tell us if you agree with these tote-to-tastemaker pairings.

1. Zoe Kravitz/ Theyskens' Theory Aeel Frame Cross Body Bag ($795) in Navy
If you lean towards an edgier style aesthetic, like Zoe Kravitz, you'd likely appreciate this Theyskens' Theory square-shaped bag. The eelskin purse is the perfect size--not too big, not too small--for toting around all your essentials, plus its deep navy shade makes it versatile enough to pair with almost any outfit. Accented with sleek silver hardware, the carrier exudes a slightly tough, minimalistic vibe that we're sure a downtown-cool maven like Kravitz would love. Though Theyskens' Theory's bag is certainly an investment-worthy pick, we also suggest Cesca Elie's Flap Top Faux Leather Crossbody Bag ($30) or Sandro's Black Crossbody Bag ($250), two go-with-anything carriers with the same edgy details!

2. Diane Kruger/ 3.1 Phillip Lim 31 Hour Bag ($750) in Limon
Designed for the girl on the go, 3.1 Phillip Lim's newest shoulder bag is a clever combo of laid-back insouciance (a soft, pliable rectangular shape) and of-the-moment chic (that magnificent lemon yellow hue). We think style savant Diane Kruger would happily update her go-to black satchel for this cheerful rendition, as its clean, classic look fits her tastes perfectly. For those on a stricter budget this season, look no further than Kelly Moore's Kelly Boy Bag ($199) in Mustard. The darker yellow hue of this shoulder bag is still very much on-trend, plus it features numerous compartments for all your necessities. If you're not quite ready to take the color plunge with an allover yellow bag, we're also fond of Danielle Nicole's Davina Satchel ($88) in Canvas Combo. The chic, medium-sized purse is trimmed in sunny yellow, so you can still flash some color without devoting yourself entirely to it.

3. Gwen Stefani/ Michael Kors Raffia Santorini XL Crossbody Bag ($595, 1.800.709.5677) in Natural/Teak
Gwen Stefani is the queen of unpredictable style, always mixing and matching unexpected colors or choosing unique accessories to punch up her look. That's precisely why we think she'd fall for this Michael Kors carrier woven from lightweight raffia straw, which looks as if she picked it up on her travels around the globe! The functional bag features a leather cross-body strap, and would look equally appropriate for the beach or a dinner date. Though Stefani is seen here with the L.A.M.B. Santals Bowler ($550, available here in black) in Cobalt, a sophisticated bag in a rich fall-appropriate hue, we think the singer/designer will opt for something slightly more casual this spring with a raffia tote. If you opt for the raffia route as well, we also suggest checking out Michael Stars' Calypso Tote ($98) or Bop Basics' Raffia Carryall Bag ($105). Both picks will only set you back a cool Benjamin, but you'll get a ton of use out of these natural-looking bags.

4. Kate Bosworth/ Valentino Lockrock Bag ($2495) in Leopard Calf Hair
Valentino's petite purse certainly wasn't made for the sartorially shy! The bag, crafted in leopard calf hair and featuring flashy gold studs and hardware, exudes rock 'n' roll glamour. We've got a hunch that Kate Bosworth, who was recently spotted toting Mulberry's Mini Lily With Tassels ($625) in Ink Blue Heavy Suede from the Pre-Fall 12 collection, would pull it off with aplomb. The actress would know exactly how to style the Valentino bag, tempering its notice-me-now vibe with chic yet inconspicuous pieces. Want to follow your animal instincts this spring, but not ready to shell out a couple grand? We hunted down similar-looking alternatives, like Oasis' Leopard Cross Body Bag ($51) and Rebecca Minkoff's Leopard Print Calf Hair Fling Clutch ($195). Though these carriers mimic Valentino's on-trend leopard print and cool cross-body straps, they flaunt far more economical price tags!

5. Emma Stone/ Salvatore Ferragamo Red Leather Drawstring Bag ($1590, 1.800.628.8916)
With its relaxed, bucket-like shape, this Salvatore Ferragamo bag belongs on a girl with unfussy style sensibilities. A long strap allows you to sling it easily over your shoulder, while a drawstring closure makes it a snap to locate your wallet or keys. We can't think of anyone else more suited for this brightly colored purse than Emma Stone! The actress, seen here carrying Alexander Wang's Rocco Duffel ($875) in Black, clearly prefers low-maintenance pieces, so this spacious carrier is an ideal choice. If you don't want to splurge on a drawstring purse just yet, however, consider Marc by Marc Jacobs' Block Party Drawstring Crossbody Bag ($268) in Fluro Coral or The SAK Indio Drawstring Shoulder Bag ($99). Both share similar vibrant hues and handy closures, but at a more accessible price point!--Tiffany Tse
