Fall Shoes

Fall Shoes
Thursday, August, 23, 2012 Coco Chanel once said, "A woman with good shoes is never ugly." While the five ladies in today's story would be indisputably beautiful even if they went barefoot, we were inspired to pick out the season's best shoes that we'd love to see them in! Read on and tell us if you agree with our pairings.1. Gwen Stefani/ Acne Jordan Shoes ($800, 212.334.8345) in Khaki
There's no doubt about it: Gwen Stefani's got her own take on punk rock style down pat. We think the singer, who was recently spotted in her favorite red Doc Martens, would love Acne's '90s-inspired creepers, which mesh perfectly with fall's military-inspired jackets. Not quite ready to indulge in these investment-worthy shoes? Try Elizabeth and James' Pine Cutout Booties ($350) in Bordeaux or indigo by Clarks' Heath Wren Booties ($140) in Taupe Distress instead!

2. Miranda Kerr/ Alexander Wang Sonja Mid Heel Ankle Strap Pumps ($485, 212.977.9683)
Last season, trendsetters everywhere were enamored with Alexander Wang's popular Joan Mule Pumps ($545). This fall, the designer's new rendition has a low-cut toe and double ankle-strap! These sleek, sharp shoes would suit Miranda Kerr, who's all about sophisticated separates and accessories like the strappy Bally sandals she sported earlier this year. If you seek a more wallet-friendly pair, but still want that pointy-toe and neutral hue, go for Sam Edelman's Orly Patent Pumps ($120) or French Connection's Tiarella Patent Ankle Strap Courts Shoes ($76).

3. Jessica Biel/ Gucci Boulanger Laced Equestrian Tall Flat Boots ($1150)
You really can't go wrong with a fresh pair of knee-high boots for fall. Gucci's equestrian version is chic and comfortable, with a barely-there heel and lace-up detail. They're just right for a style maven like Jessica Biel, who always looks polished without trying too hard. Corso Como's Sheffield Knee-High Boots ($228) in Black Burnish Calf and Diba's Ferious Knee-High Boots ($135) are close matches, so be sure to check them out too!

4. Alexa Chung/ Chloe Metal Tipped Fringed Boxcalf Loafers ($769)
Alexa Chung's known for her borrowed-from-the-boys look, so we think she'd adore these Chloe slip-on loafers. A glossy sheen and gold-tipped fringe give this pair an especially luxe feel. We imagine Chung teaming these shoes with more feminine pieces, like a Peter Pan-collared dress or tweed mini skirt, for a cool contrast. Topshop's Kendal Shiny Leather Loafers ($90) and DV by Dolce Vita's Delphi Loafers ($79) in Black Suede offer similar alternatives for other tomboy-inspired dressers!

5. Tali Lennox/ Prada Spazzolato Leather Two-Tone Shoes ($950, 212.334.8888)
Prada's two-tone pumps with a slightly curved heel appeal to our whimsical sensibilities--and we think model Tali Lennox would appreciate them too. The shoes are a mash-up of quirky and glamour, just like Lennox! For more economical options, we suggest Marni's Platform Pumps ($368) in Red and Dolce Vita's Suede and Leather Bonnie Two-Tone Platform Pumps ($55) in Red/Black.--Tiffany Tse
