It's the middle of July, and we can finally say we have settled into the idea of summer and all of the season's oh-so-cute mini trends! But while we're finally enjoying the warm weather, our attention is already turning away from sun-infused styles and starting to focus on what fall has in store for us this year. But while one part of our brain is plotting autumn's fashion coverage, the other part is firmly focused on the now, as we continue to track down all the must-know information for all your off-duty style inquires. Lately those requests have taken an Anglophilic turn, so for today's installment of What Was She Wearing: Answers!, we're treating you to a quartet of British beauties. From Sienna Miller's pleated shorts to Fearne Cotton's fabulous fringe booties, we've got all the need-to-know facts about these stylish ladies' latest outfit choices.
As an actress, model, and one-half of the design duo behind Twenty8Twelve (her sister Savannah rounds out the pair), Sienna Miller is a strong force in the fashion industry and always on your fashion radar. And with carefree ensembles like the one she wore leaving The Dead Weather show at the Roundhouse in Camden, it's hard not to make a good impression. Crop tops and high-waisted shorts are a perfect summer combo, as Miller demonstrated via her gray Kain top and Topshop's Sand Suede Pleat Shorts ($135). Since the actress' exact Kain shirt is from a few seasons ago, pick up LNA's in-stock option, the Cropped Jersey Tee ($68), to approximate the look. To accessorize these cute neutral pieces, Miller added a pair of buckled pseudo-booties; she chose Topshop's Anarchy Multi Buckle Wedges ($160), but ASOS' Randal Buckle Wedges ($68) will also give you that fashionably strapped-in look. Finally Miller completed her ensemble with vintage jewelry and Chloe's Marcie Medium Satchel ($1,595), covetable items for sure. If you're looking for more attainable alternatives, try Chico's Romes Cuff Bracelet ($34) and Marc by Marc Jacobs' Q-49 Franny Tote ($498), which have the same great qualities as Miller's original selections.
Each year, song and style collide in the English countryside (much like it does in the Indio desert) at the much-loved music festival Glastonbury. And, as expected, your questions came rushing in about the stylish brigade who attended this major multi-day event. One particular look that caught your attention was the dressed-down ensemble Emma Watson wore on the third day. The Harry Potter starlet beat the heat in vintage Calvin Klein denim cutoffs¬--an indisputable staple for any casual, warm-weather outing¬--paired with a sleeveless white blouse. To mimic this daytime look, simply grab a pair of short-shorts, like Levi's 501 Cutoff Shorts ($50), and style them with American Apparel's Sleeveless Lawn Button-Up Shirt ($42), and voila, you have a Watson-worthy outfit! Of course, we can't forget her intriguing accessories: a Louis Vuitton Embossed Leather Poch Passport Bag ($15,520, 866.VUITTON) and adorable Yves Saint Laurent leopard belt. Topshop's Leopard Skinny Belt ($36) will give you that animalistic accent you are looking for, plus, it's a perfect transition piece to take you through fall. Watson had the right idea when she opted for a petit shoulder bag to carry all her festival necessities. The hands-free, unfussy purse is a must-buy this season, so be sure to incorporate Forever 21's Sling Over Your Shoulder Bag ($17) into your daily rotation.
T4 television presenter and past Girl Of the Month Jameela Jamil boasts a quirky sense of humor (follow @jameelajamil to see what we mean), which we absolutely adore, but it is her cool-girl fashion sensibilities that make this striking beauty a real standout in your eyes. There is much to love about Jamil's smart mixture of grunge and glamour, so including her in today's story pleases us to no end! Spotted last month at the Evian VIP Suite at the 2010 Wimbledon Championships, Jamil sported Reiss' Patagonia Dress ($138¬--the gold button details are so cute¬--with a zippy pair of Urban Outfitters' Canvas Pumps ($48) in Coral. Her ensemble reminded us that mid-blue hues are having a major moment this summer, so if you can't get her exact jean frock, you might like Grane's Lakshmi Denim Dress ($20) instead. Simply accessorize with a splash of orange¬--via Jamil's exact shoes or a little lip color, like MAC's Lipstick ($14) in Vegas Volt¬--to add a playful element to the overall look!
The spotlight continues to shine brightly on the lovely Fearne Cotton¬--the English presenter was recently named the host of Britain's next great music competition, Must Be The Music, and walked away with Radio Personality of the Year at Glamour's Women Of The Year 2010 awards¬-- so it is no surprise you have also taken an interest in her keen fashion sense. While out in London earlier this month, Cotton looked charming in the Cotton Puff Sleeve Lace Dress ($74) from her eponymous line. She livened up the sweet frock with luxe royal blue accents, including obsession-worthy Mulberry Moccasin Booties ($486, 212.453.4722) in Ink Blue and Meg Mathews for Liberty's Russian Doll Scarf ($159), then finished off her ensemble with a Jaeger Miranda Bag ($915), which is no longer in stock. And although her exact accessories come with a pretty hefty price tag, Banana Republic's Snapshot Wrap ($70), Paul & Joe Sister's Vanda Suede Fringe Booties ($182), and BCBGeneration's Zooey Fold Over Messenger Tote ($72) in black are affordable substitutes.¬--Jessica Baker
