What to Wear When You’re Feeling Stressed, According to a Doctor

Elyssa Goodman

The holiday season can be incredibly stressful, but it doesn't have to be if you have the right outfit

According to cognitive psychologist Lawrence D. Rosenblum, your brain acknowledges when and why you have positive feelings in certain situations and can duplicate them when those experiences are repeated, Glamour reports. Therefore, he says, "If you've had a good experience and will be in a similar situation, it makes sense to wear the same garments you wore in that context."

To reduce your stress levels, wear clothing that makes you feel happy and comfortable, like comfy sweaters and your favorite jeans. "Our clothes affect how others see us, but even how we feel about ourselves," Rosenblum says.
