Milan Fashion Week
Despite the controversy surrounding Milan's 2013 Fashion Week schedule, the beautiful city hosted yet another week of unquestionable sartorial splendor. Complete with a prestigious designer lineup and enough insider and celebrity style on display to make any fashion lover squeal with delight, MFW is continually a prominent source for not only the latest trends, but stellar off-the-runway outfit inspiration too!As such, we've culled a spectacular roundup of the week's most stylish attendees, brought to you by Gucci. Read through for all the need-to-know details on each of today's featured looks, and be sure to tell us which ensembles top your best-dressed list as well!
WHO: Clara Paget
WHAT: Spotted front row at the Gucci F/W 12 show.
WEAR: What happens when you mix a luxe metallic top with sporty side-stripe pants? In the case of Clara Paget, you get one incredibly stylish and perfectly on-trend outfit! All eyes were on the British model/actress at the Gucci F/W 12 show, who brilliantly grounded her dressy Gucci Bronze Voile Top ($795) with the low-ley vibe of her two-tone satin pants. As finishing touches, she added Gucci's quilted leather jacket and New Bamboo Bag ($2030).
WHO: Julia Sarr-Jamois
WHAT: Celebrating the Vionnet flagship store opening on Wednesday.
WEAR: Wonderland fashion editor and industry It girl Julia Sarr-Jamois has dazzled us with a dream-worthy assortment of ensembles for months now, but our favorite thus far is the one she assembled for Vionnet's flagship store opening. We adore her shaggy olive green coat-it gives the look some textural intrigue-and are particularly thrilled she styled it with slim gray trousers and leather loafers for a dashing menswear-inspired twist. Finally, we love how she added a pop of color with a neon yellow t-shirt.
WHO: Anna Wintour
WHAT: Arriving at the Fendi F/W 12 show on Thursday.
WEAR: If we were ever lucky enough to get a peek inside Anna Wintour's closet, we'd likely feast our eyes upon heaps of printed frocks! Colorful, patterned dresses are a wardrobe mainstay for Vogue's editor-in-chief, so it's no surprise she packed this blue and white iteration emblazoned with tiny dogs in her suitcase for Milan. Since the vivid piece is typically warm-weather attire, Wintour smartly added a Burberry Prorsum slim fur coat and knee-high leather boots to keep toasty in chilly temperatures-the perfect transitional styling tip!
WHO: Giovanna Battaglia
WHAT: En route to the Fendi F/W 12 show on Thursday.
WEAR: While Giovanna Battaglia impresses us with her outfits at events all around the world, the Italian editor/stylist especially wowed us at MFW this season-we'll chalk it up to a home turf advantage! We particularly love her streamlined Valentino toggle cape, as it's quite simple but still makes a stylish statement. Additionally, given her hectic schedule, we think her decision to opt for ultra-comfy slippers by Stubbs and Wootton and Fendi's roomy Silvana White Wicker Satchel ($4420, 212.759.4646) was wise indeed!
WHO: Carine Roitfeld
WHAT: Hanging out at the Valentino flagship store opening on Thursday.
WEAR: We'll never tire of Carine Roitfeld's effortless style! This time around, we're enamored with her understated look at the Valentino flagship store opening in Milan last week. The oversized embellished sweater gives off an irresistibly easygoing yet chic vibe, while the leather skirt injects sultry flair into the overall look, resulting in a brilliantly balanced outfit!
WHO: Alek Wek
WHAT: At the Gucci F/W 12 show on Wednesday.
WEAR: If there's anything we've learned over the years, it's that the key to a great F/W fashion week ensemble is a spectacular coat! That said, model Alek Wek gets our vote for best outerwear at MFW with a chic, fur-embellished iteration. Worn over a white lace dress and with sleek gold ankle-strap heels, her uber-stylish and cozy topper makes for the perfect finale to her front row look.
WHO: Anna Dello Russo
WHAT: Photographed before the Moschino F/W 12 show on Friday.
WEAR: While we love a flamboyant Anna Dello Russo outfit as much as the next fashion aficionado, her tamer choices are often just as noteworthy and exciting. For example, we love the look she put together for the Moschino F/W 12 show. It's slightly nautical, thanks to Moschino's navy blue double-breasted jacket and crisp white trousers-from the F/W 11 and S/S 12 collections respectively- yet metallic gold accents give the overall ensemble a completely modern, of-the-moment look befitting any fashion insider.-Jessica Baker, with Erin Fitzpatrick
