Couture Week

While the debate rages about whether or not couture is relevantÂ--The New York Times fashion critic Cathy Horyn believes couture is " slipping off peopleÂ's radars faster than a U.F.O.," but Chanel's CEO Bruno Pavlosky insists "couture is essential to the brand"Â--one thing is certain: we adore the glitz and glamour of the high-fashion shows. In addition to our fascination with all of the clothes (like the baby doll dresses at Valentino, which are sure to have red-carpet moments, and the insane craftsmanship at Givenchy), we also love checking out all of the attendees amazing ensembles. Happily for us, this season the "couture club" included a particularly diverse brigade of fashion's finest, as everyone from Jessica Alba to Carine Roitfeld to Natalia Vodianova came to Paris for the shows.

Though the ateliers unveiled gorgeous gowns aplenty, for today's story we collected the week's top off-the-runway looks for your viewing pleasure. In addition to being phenomenally chic, these style stars also displayed a couple of transitional trends worth noting. First of all, we noticed lots of ladylike bows, whether at the waistline, per Jessica Alba and Olivia Palermo, or on the foot, as seen on Vodianova's pointy pumps. Additionally, we were wowed by the fanciful odes to texture demonstrated by Shala Monroque's lacey frock, Carine Roitfeld's eyelet sleeves, and Eugenie Niarchos' leather dress with cutout detailing. But enough about what we loveÂ--we're curious about what tastemakers and collections caught your eyes! Tweet us ( and let us know!Â--Jessica Baker
