Though we spend pretty much all day, every day talking about the world's most stylish women, the fact that there are loads of fashionable fellows out there is certainly not lost on us! Chalk it up to being a bit boy crazy lately--can you blame us when gorgeous guys like Ryan Gosling and Andrew Garfield are taking over the silver screen?--but we've decided to take a break from the ladies for a minute and dedicate today's installment of What They Wear to some of our favorite well-dressed men. Now, it's not hard to see that today's batch of handsome guys have style in spades, but seeing as menswear is not our primary forte, we thought it would be best to call on Mr. Porter's Jodie Harrison to lend us some expertise on the subject.
As longtime admirers of both Net-A-Porter and Mr. Porter (no doubt you know the former, the latter is the menswear equivalent!), we were beyond ecstatic when Harrison agreed to be our guest expert for today's What They Wear: Stylish Guys story! It's obvious the woman knows what she's talking about when it comes to stylish menswear: as the Editor of Mr. Porter, she oversees all of the editorial content for noted site, including its weekly magazine. And before joining Mr. Porter in 2010, Harrison spent seven years at British GQ as the magazine's Executive Style Editor. Taking time out of her very busy schedule, Harrison was kind enough to give us her thoughts on each of today's featured looks along with a slew of lust-worthy products to help the men in your life construct similarly savvy ensembles. Hope you enjoy--we sure do!
WHO: Ryan Gosling
WHAT: Snapped arriving at LAX back in June.
WEAR: 3.1 Phillip Lim jacket; green t-shirt; Levi's jeans; lace-up boots.
WHY: It's true, dear readers, Ryan Gosling can do no wrong in our eyes. Whether he's playing the ultimate romancer in Crazy Stupid Love or sporting a well-assembled outfit in his off-duty hours, he always manages to make our hearts go aflutter. Speaking of the latter, the actor recently caught our eye at LAX earlier this summer, when he wore a casually cool ensemble consisting of a 3.1 Phillip Lim leather jacket, a basic green tee, rolled-up Levi's and lace-up boots. Happily, our guest expert is also a fan of Gosling's en route outfit choice! "He's the kind of guy you hope and pray you'll end up seated next to on a long haul (although fate usually hands you someone high on Ambiens)," Harrison says. "This airport ensemble ticks all my dressed-down sartorial boxes: battered leather jacket, a what-do-I-care? T-shirt, worn-in straight-leg denims, some I'm-at-home-in-the-outdoors chukka boots and a grisly looking, real man pooch. He's nailed it, AGAIN!"
GET THE ESSENTIALS: MCQ Worn Leather Biker Jacket ($1590); Levi's Vintage Clothing Chest Pocket T-Shirt ($85); Kitsune Blue Slim Fit Selvedge Jeans ($340); Quoddy Leather Lace-Up Boots ($515).
WHO: Jamie Hince
WHAT: Leaving his home in London two months ago.
WEAR: Navy blazer with light blue trim; blue t-shirt; dark-wash jeans; gray suede boots.
WHY: With a rock uniform that is always smart and thoughtfully constructed, Jamie Hince was a natural choice for today's story. The British guitarist--we're super fans of his band The Kills--consistently puts together outfits that are not only chic, but have a cool insouciance to them. In regards to today's featured look, Harrison commented: "Mr. Moss loves a skinny-jeans and suede boots combo almost as much as his new wife does, and you know what? It works!" We have to agree one hundred percent with our menswear expert. Also noteworthy is the way Hince mixed up his look. "The cropped blazer with contrast trim adds a welcome hint of formality," Harrison says. Indeed!

WHO: Jim Sturgess
WHAT: Arriving at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's annual luncheon in Beverly Hills early last month.
WEAR: Lanvin suit and shirt.
WHY: Here at WWW, we're fans of the unexpected, which is why we're so enamored with the gray Lanvin suit Jim Sturgess recently selected. The almost-metallic hue and subtle checked print makes for a visually intriguing and standout choice. "As one of the hottest new actors to emerge from the UK of late, Mr. Sturgess knows what is expected of him: smart casual, with an emphasis on the casual," says Harrison. "Overall this look is as cheeky as the chap himself; scruffy yet entirely lovable."
GET THE ESSENTIALS: Alexander McQueen Prince of Wales Check Suit Jacket ($1520) and Trousers ($795); Paul Smith London White Striped Cuff Shirt ($150); Polo Ralph Lauren Reversible Leather Belt ($85); Paul Smith Vintage Style Leather Brogues ($600).
WHO: Penn Badgley
WHAT: Spotted at the "Summer Party on the High Line" in New York back in June.
WEAR: Calvin Klein shirt; Marc Jacobs pants; Maison Martin Margiela shoes.
WHY: The words "effortlessly cool" come to mind when we think of Penn Badgley, especially when it comes to the look he put together for a party on the High Line in New York earlier this summer. The actor impressed Harrison with his laidback look too. "Mr. Badgley seems to understand that for an informal alfresco event, you really can't go wrong with a pair of rolled-up navy, slim-fitting chinos and a crisp white shirt, " she says. It's definitely easy style at its best! As for Badgley's footwear, well, he wins there too. "The Margiela lace-less shoes add just the right amount of interest below the ankle," Harrison says, and we agree!
GET THE ESSENTIALS: Yves Saint Laurent Fitted Cotton-Blend Shirt ($345); Etro Straight Leg Cotton Trousers ($410); Maison Martin Margiela Slip-On Oxfords ($750).
WHO: Kanye West
WHAT: Snapped at the CFDA Awards a few months ago.
WEAR: Crème blazer; white t-shirt; Balmain jeans; Stubbs & Wootton slippers.
WHY: Kanye West has been stirring up plenty of buzz in the fashion world lately, thanks in large part to rumors that his highly-anticipated first clothing line will debut at New York Fashion Week this year and of course, his hip and smart sense of style. West has turned up in a number of top-notch ensembles recently, our favorite being the look he put together for the CFDA awards back in May. Harrison's thoughts? "A typically bold look from the style-savvy Mr. West," she says. "The white tuxedo jacket looks crisp and elegant, counteracted well with some casually rolled-up sleeves and lived-in denim."
GET THE ESSENTIALS: Richard James Silk and Linen-Blend Suit Jacket ($705); Acne Age Scoop Neck Cotton T-Shirt ($90); Rag & Bone Straight Washed Jeans ($215); Luis Morais 14K Yellow Gold Anchor Bracelet ($2225) and 14K Yellow Gold Skull Bracelet ($1615); Church Sovereign Embroidered Crown Slippers ($335).
WHO: Colin Egglesfield
WHAT: Dolce & Gabbana suit; Zara shirt; Hugo Boss shoes.
WEAR: Arriving at a charity event at the Sunset Tower in Hollywood earlier this year.
WHY: You could say it was love at first sight with Colin Egglesfield. Sure, he's a handsome fellow, but he's also got impeccable taste when it comes to fashion, which, as you know, is a top-notch quality in our book. "Every man needs a slim suit in his wardrobe and Mr. Egglesfield show us exactly why that is: it's a fail-safe event outfit," Harrison says. "His ridiculous good looks and elegantly shaped shoes means he can pretty much get away with anything." Personally, we were particularly pleased with the way the actor styled is shirt slightly unbuttoned, giving his after-hours look a relaxed, down-to-earth vibe.
GET THE ESSENTIALS: Dolce & Gabbana Martini Wool and Silk-Blend Suit ($2095); Ralph Lauren Black Label Cotton Blend Formal Shirt ($295); Gucci Classic Leather Belt ($285); Jimmy Choo Mayfair Derby Shoes ($795).
WHO: Andrew Garfield
WHAT: Photographed at the 36th Annual Los Angeles Film Critics Choice Association Awards early this year.
WEAR: Band of Outsiders suit; Dolce and Gabbana shirt; Prada tie; Rachel Comey shoes.
WHY: While Andrew Garfield's off-duty ensembles typically consist of layered casual separates, the up-and-coming actor has no problem when it comes to dressing for the red carpet. "It's a quintessentially British attempt at dressing up that suits Mr. Garfield's "who me?" sort of attitude," Harrison says. The actor often goes for a slim suit, but it was his nonchalant styling that made this look particularly interesting. "He's made a nod to formality with his decidedly undone silk pocket square and got the shoe pretty much bang-on with a pair of "experienced" chocolate brown lace-ups," Harrison states. Whatever the reason, one thing's for sure: it's working!
GET THE ESSENTIALS: Burberry London Milbury Two Button Wool Suit ($1095); Gucci Slim Fit Cotton Shirt ($355); Dolce & Gabbana Narrow Knitted Tie ($195); Charvet Silk Polka Dot Pocket Square ($95); Dolce & Gabbana Patent Leather Derby Shoes ($695).--Jessica Baker
