Anna dello Russo
Anna dello Russo┬--the Editor-at-Large for Japanese Vogue┬--is never afraid to play with fashion and loves to push the envelope with avant-garde frocks or outspoken accessories. The self-proclaimed outrageous editor stayed true to her lively proclivities at Balenciaga's S/S 11 show in Paris, where she was photographed wearing an eye-catching Pre-Fall 10 Balmain Dress ($14200). The choice of such a high-voltage, of-the-moment sequined stunner highlights the flamboyant Italian's fearless fashion sense and her gorgeous gams, reminding us why we always look to dello Russo for knockout ensembles!
We know we can always count on jewelry designer/muse/fashion-industry favorite Gaia Repossi to come through with a sophisticated neutral-toned look, and the outfit she wore to the launch party dinner for Babeth Dijan's new book during Paris Fashion Week did not lead us astray! For the festivities lauding the Numero Editor-in-Chief's new tome, Babeth, the ravishing Repossi struck it rich with Celine's Khaki Bonded Skirt ($3950) from the Pre-Fall collection, Isabel Marant's Heather Jersey Top ($185), and two additional Celine pieces: Black Leather Thong Sandals ($750) and a Khaki Classic Box Bag ($3400). We like how she added intrigue to her ensemble with a fringed skirt, yet tempered the unusual silhouette by pairing it with unfettered basics. And of course, what would a style icon be without self-designed jewelry as her baubles of choice? The Italian stunner polished off this fashion-forward look with two black gold and diamond rings from her family's jewelry company, Repossi.
Elle's Style Director Kate Lanphear invariably titillates fashion enthusiasts with her edgy, androgynous looks and downtown-chic personal style. While it was difficult to narrow it down to just one of the uber-blonde's many on-the-cusp ensembles, we think the above look from NYFW is the perfect pick. The fashionable femme headed out one day in a devastatingly cool combo of an oversized white Celine blouse, vintage denim vest, J. Brand's 912 Low-Rise Pencil Leg Jeans ($174) in Shadow, and killer Giuseppe Zanotti Wedge Boots ($1250). Additionally, we love how Lanphear finalized her outfit with loads of spiky bangles and a luscious leather Jil Sander clutch for a touch of luxe.
Taylor Tomasi Hill
A bonafide style icon, Marie Claire Style and Accessories Director Taylor Tomasi Hill has taken the blogosphere and street-style forums by storm. After all, who could forget when she stepped out last year in Norma Kamali's Square Cat Eye Sunglasses ($250) in Tokyo Tortoise and single-handedly launched this raging eyewear trend? Once again enchanting all with her upscale eclectic style, the stunning redhead emerged at NYFW in Proenza Schouler's Fish Print Jacquard Skirt ($840) from their S/S 10 collection and Equipment's Signature Sleeveless Shirt ($178) expertly knotted at her waist. Of course, the accessories maven's outfit would not be complete without the perfect finishing touches in the form of her ripped-from-the runway Balenciaga heels, statement Eddie Borgo Caged Crystal Collar ($1625), and now signature Norma Kamali Square Cat Eye Sunglasses ($250).
Whether she's out and about at fabulous events representing L'Uomo Vogue or cavorting around town with fellow fashion pal Anna dello Russo, Giovanna Battaglia's outfits always strike a molto bene note. To attend Fendi's S/S 11 Show, the former Dolce & Gabbana house model opted for a laidback ensemble comprised of the colorblocked Fendi Crepe de Chine and Sable Silk Dress ($1699). We love how she kept it simple with a color-free palette and the way she nodded to the ongoing military trend with this season's of-the-moment lace-ups┬--specifically, Fendi's Embossed Boots ($1007)┬--and socks. The overall effect is so under-the-radar-chic and spot-on for an Editor-at-Large!
We always appreciate an editor with a knack for effortlessly mixing quotidian brands with designer pieces, so when we spotted Marie Claire Senior Fashion Editor Zanna Roberts running around New York Fashion Week in a high-end-meets-high-street ensemble we were aptly thrilled. The cool Brit grounded her outfit with a pair of MICHAEL Michael Kors' Walking Shorts ($79.50), and then upgraded these casual bottoms with Jonathan Simkhai's Leather Pocket Tee ($312). Sticking to an of-the-moment neutral palette, she added Diane von Furstenberg's Faye Clogs ($280) and included a seasonal must-have piece with her H&M Camel Coat ($99). The resulting ensemble has a minimalist, yet youthful vibe that is perfect for a day at the office or running from show to show.
Nylon's Style Director and girl-about-town Dani Stahl routinely thrills us with her cutting-edge ensembles like the one featured today, which consists of a daring sequin, stud, and leather mix! For New York's sartorial circus, the edgy editor selected an all-black ensemble starting with LNA's Longsleeve Loose Crew Shirt ($86) paired with a Sequin Stretch-Wool Blazer ($990) and cracked leather shorts, both from Helmut Lang. But Stahl didn't stop there! Piling on the texture, Stahl selected tough-girl accents like Alexandre Herchcovitch's Mid-Calf Buckle Boots ($984), Lia Sophia's Bullet Choker ($800) worn as a bracelet, Lia Sophia's Runway Ring ($125), and Burberry's Mega Stud Bag ($1195) which will be available in stores this month!
Joanna Hillman┬--the Senior Fashion Market Editor at Harper's Bazaar┬--is our current style crush. This fashion-show season, her perfectly appointed outfits (like this leopard-tote accented one) delighted and inspired us to no end! Snapped in the tents at Lincoln Center, Hillman showed off an expert combo of fall trends via her J. Crew Bi-Stretch Wool Minnie Pants ($98) in Henna, 3.1 Phillip Lim Top ($310) from the S/S 08 collection, Miu Miu Satin Mary Jane Platform Pumps ($427), and covetable 3.1 Phillip Lim Knap Sack Quilted Leopard Tote Bag ($595). And, how could we not mention her extraordinary beauty look too? The combo of a side braid and fuchsia pout provide a flawless finish to a remarkable ensemble, easily marking Hillman as a NYFW VIP.
As Executive Creative Director of J. Crew, Jenna Lyons has revamped the longstanding American sportswear outpost, taking it from preppy staples to accessibly chic essentials. So it should come as no surprise that we always look to the lovely Lyons for casual, on-trend ensembles with a classic touch. The outfit she selected to wear to Billy Reid's S/S 2011 presentation at Milk Studios during New York Fashion Week offers an ideal example of her dressing sensibilities. Lyons picked a J.Crew solid lightweight shirt from their Summer 09 collection and paired it with the belted Longuette Skirt ($285) and Fur Scarf ($593), both from Dries Van Noten's F/W 10 collection. Her look not only pays serious homage to fall's call for leopard accents┬--love that lust-worthy scarf┬--but it also perfectly translates the military trend, proving that army pieces can be styled for on as well as off-duty looks.
Oh, Dree Louise: we are such devoted fans of your winning personal style! The impeccably dressed model once again hit it out of the sartorial park at the Fendi party for Duran Duran during Paris Fashion Week. Clad in a pink Fendi dress, Prada Wool Sweater ($795), Fendi fur vest, and Miu Miu's Duchesse Heels ($630) from their S/S 10 collection, she looked dazzlingly glamorous. Hemingway's bright sixties-inspired palette is festively unique and we love how she further amped up her outfit with an of-the-moment fur vest and kitschy printed shoes. The result is a vibrant look that is spot-on for the evening's rock n' roll-meets-high fashion event!┬--Liza Kaplan
