Airports
Unless you kept it local this holiday season, you most likely had to deal with the following clothing conundrum at least once during the past month: what to wear when traveling? Of course, there are many correct responses to the aforementioned question, so we figured we'd let some of our favorite celebrities illustrate a few fashionable answers. After all, whether you have impending work trips or wonderful winter getaways planned, everyone can benefit from a little airport-outfit advice! Our suggestion is simple: to travel in style and ensure a hassle-free flying experience (at least where your wardrobe is concerned), just follow these famous femmes' fashion rules. We can't promise that you'll get to the gate on time, but we are certain that you'll look darling when you get to your final destination. So make sure your seat backs and tray tables are in the upright position because we're about to show you how to take-off on-trend in today's edition of WTW: Airports!

1. Warm and luxurious layers are wise!
Though this may seem like an obvious tidbit of advice we really cannot underscore the utter importance of arming yourself against the blustery weather and airborne climate changes with cozy and easy-to-layer pieces. Whether it's a big scarf (à la Lauren Conrad's Wrap Scarf with Fringe ($85) from Love Quotes, which she wore at LAX), a chic coat (like Ms. Biel's Mackage Raffy Trench Coaticon ($490) in Vancouver or Kate Hudson's greige garment at LAX), or a posh poncho (Rihanna's Baby Alpaca Fair Isle Sweater ($648) from Yigal Azrouel can't be beat), lots of lovely layers are the way to go. If you happen to be flying during the warmer months (as Penelope Cruz did last spring) or between two temperate locales, you can rock a lighter coat like Silence & Noise's Motorcycle Jacket ($58). Just make sure you've got a hot hat like Shopbop's Thick Knit Beret ($58) or their Felt Fedora ($78) to cover up any bed head after a little in-flight snooze!

2. Easy to slip off shoes are a must!
Considering the ever-changing nature of airport security procedures, we can undoubtedly recommend that you opt for an easy-to-slip-on pair of shoes. For our money, boots are best, especially if they're sans fussy zippers or buttons. Take some sole suggestions from Conrad and Biel, by picking up Chloe's Flat Leather Boots ($900), or try Forever 21's Zar Double Zip Boots ($27) for a great variation on Rihanna's gray boots. Of course, if you are devoted to your favorite sneaks, we recommend you pick up Cruz's classic Converse Chuck Taylor Low Sneakers ($40) to keep things casual and cool.

3. Grab a bag and sunglasses before you go!
Finally, we would never forget the top two all-important travel accoutrements: sunglasses and a multi-purpose satchel. After all, you need a chic schlepper when you're on the move! Cruz was spotted wearing a celebrity favorite tote, the Sofia Coppola for Louis Vuitton Suede Asphalt Bag ($3730, 866.VUITTON), while Ashley Olsen's patchwork shoulder bag is also a nice noir number. If you are fans, try Steve Madden's Bweave Paris Bag ($98) or Bottega Veneta's One Zip Tote ($1650). Finally, shades to complete the look: try Michael Kors' Oversized Sunglasses ($235) or A.J. Morgan's Binocle Round Sunglasses ($20) and you'll be seeing nothing but clear skies and arriving (or departing!) in style!
