What should I wear to a baby or bridal shower?

Jessica Baker

Since baby and bridal showers remain one of life's last overtly feminine traditions, we think it only appropriate to be totally boyish and unconventional! That means breaking out your coolest menswear-inspired look, as it will make you stand out as a stylish and modern partygoer. Must-Try Look #1: Tapered Trousers + Blouse + Blazer + Chunky Necklace Whether it's a modern tux style, striped, relaxed, or neon, look for a slightly tapered trouser that hits right above the ankle, and pair it with a matching little blazer. Your top should feel clean and simple; think: a crisp crew neck silk tee in a festive print or color. If you'd rather wear a knit t-shirt, just be sure to add a chunky necklace (perhaps mixed metals or oversized gems) to dress up your look. Don't forget a pointy stiletto in a bright color or texture to finish the look. Must-Try Look #2: Button-Up + Pencil/Circle Skirt + Brogues Not a pants gal? Try a pencil or circle skirt with a menswear button-up to still achieve this look. Your shoe, then, should be slightly more masculine, like a heeled brogue. Finally, grab that statement necklace and either layer smugly under your open top or over it buttoned up to appear as a sparkly collar!
