Autumn is always a bewitching time of the year. We love the sudden, somehow always unexpected, chill in the air, picking out the coolest new school supplies (a bookworm’s Christmas!), and watching the leaves transition from a summery green to warm orange, golden yellow, and deep crimson. Aside from the fresh pencils and leaf peeping, there is, of course, another reason we adore fall: the fashion.

This season, we found ourselves truly transfixed by how many of our favorite shows featured a very spooky aesthetic. We spotted zipper-accented and stud-embellished leather pieces, corsets festooned with straps, buckles and chains, and lots of gothic beauty looks (think: powdery pale skin worn with black lipstick). When we put all of the above together, we suddenly realized this the darkly delightful trend seems to be inspired by an unlikely fashion icon—Tim Burton.

Whenever we find ourselves on the horns of a fashion or outfit dilemma, we find that more often than not, the solution lies with Elizabeth and James. Whether it’s with a sleek pair of sharply cut skinny trousers, haberdashery-influenced vest, or a wonderfully versatile cocktail dress, the thoughtfully designed pieces consistently solve our clothing conundrums. Naturally our interest was piqued when we heard a jewelry line was in the works, as the designers of Elizabeth and James (you might know them as Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen) are quite well known for their taste in bijoux. The duo collaborated with famed jewelry designer, Robert Lee Morris, and created a stellar collection that’s just as noteworthy as their contemporary line.

The second we saw the luxe-bohemian-meets-Russian-gypsy looks coming down the Gucci runway, we knew this would become one of fall's most popular collections. Under Frida Ginanni's direction, the show was stuffed with rich colors, paisley prints, and sumptuous fabrics like velvet and brocade. The smartly sexy outfits were also finished with some the season's must-have accessories: over-the-knee boots and coin-embellished gold chain necklaces.
