Now that the international fashion weeks are finally finished, we are able to focus our full attention on today's edition of
What Was She Wearing: Answers! After all, the WhoWhatWear.com readers are an inquisitive bunch, and it thrills us enormously to be able to help solve your sartorial solicitations. This week, we feature such diverse demoiselles like the always-adorable Rachel Bilson and the red-hot Natasha Poly. We hope you enjoy today's story and don’t forget to keep the
questions coming!
Pixie Geldof
The sisters Geldof are fast becoming reader favorites, as evidenced by the influx of inquiries about their outfits appearing in our inbox. This week, we are highlighting Pixie Geldof, who looked cozy and chic at the Pringle of Scotland A/W 09 show in London. Seen wearing a Pringle of Scotland sweater and top (from the aforementioned collection) mixed with treasured pieces found at the famed
Portobello Road Market and Office pumps, Geldof shows us how to mix high and low pieces to get a well-appointed result. Try Office's
Periwinkle Court Pump ($77) with Vanessa Bruno's
Athé Cable Knit Cardigan ($846) or Mossimo's
Drapey Sweater Wrap ($24.99), both of which are versatile enough to keep you looking sharp (and feeling warm!) well into the spring months.
Rachel Bilson
Rachel Bilson's recent engagement to Hayden Christensen clearly hasn't been a distraction from the other love of her life: keeping up with fashion's most spectacular new trends. As of late, she's been sampling fringe, one of the most striking spring embellishments! (The tassel trim was spotted swinging on a number of key runways, including Alberta Ferretti, Jil Sander, and Alexander Wang, to name a few.) Bilson, never one to shy away from a statement-making piece, was seen running errands in Los Angeles, looking fantastic in 3.1 Phillip Lim's
Fringed Boat Neck Tunic
($695). The starlet kept the rest of her outfit simple—opaque gray tights and classic black pair of Christian Louboutin
Orlan Heels ($885). For a dressier, but similarly superb option try the
Mathilde Mini Dress
($190) from Paul and Joe Sister.
Natasha Poly
Models, consummate professionals that they are, take fashion seriously both on and off the runways.
Natasha Poly (a catwalker who consistently piques our readers' curiosity) is a prime example of a girl who knows how to wear the clothes and not let the clothes wear her. Even when pairing some of the most dizzying, dazzling designers like Cavalli (the dress), Gucci (the jacket), and YSL (the boots), the stunning Poly still manages to showcase her own personal style above all else. Her ensemble may be super high-end, but fear not, because we have gathered more budget-friendly alternatives to help you achieve her luxuriously edgy look! Try ASOS'
Cropped Leather Biker Jacket ($139), American Apparel's
Afrika Printed Cotton Jersey Dress ($29) and either Anne Klein's
Belo Ankle Bootie
($130) in black patent or Diesel's
Time 10 Ankle Boots ($286) to get red-carpet ready at a more reasonable price-point.
Mischa Barton
Mischa Barton, who often favors a gypsy-meets-mod look, caught our readers' attention when she was spotted wearing this tailored outfit to the launch of Burberry's The Beat for Men fragrance at the Viper Room in Los Angeles. The top and jacket, from Temperley London, looked smart on the stylish starlet, who added a headpiece for some signature hippie flair. We are fans of Free People's
Feathered Arrow Headband ($88) and Alex and Ani's
Phoenix Feather Headband
($48); just add some metallic cuffs for a polished yet punky vibe. We can recommend mixing S.W.O.R.D's
Padua Leather Jacket
($803) or Veda's
Temple Leather Blazer ($654), with ASOS'
Contrast Piped Bow Top ($23) or Topshop's
Double Button Silk Vest ($55), to recreate Barton's ensemble. Additionally, our readers were quite taken with her
Charlotte Olympia shoes, designed by Charlotte Dellal (sister of current Alexander Wang muse, Alice). Dellal's footwear is high glamour and would look very rock'n'roll with Silence & Noise's
Pull On Skinny Leatherette Pant ($78), a more economical but equally bold variation on Barton's skinny leather pants.—KM
In this case, I don't really care what Rachel is wearing. Love Natasha though! And is it just me, or does Pixie look like a young Billy Idol? I blame the hair and the poofed lips.

Natasha looks KILLER. rachel should not wear pale tights over fat knees, or are those just pasty legs, even worse. ick

I am not really in love with any of these looks. Although Mischa looks good. I really don't like ivory tights. Sorry Rachel.

Wow and Wow again! I almost didn't recognize Rachel, she always looks good and she looks great here very sexy hair and she lengthen her legs with a great 3.1 Phillip number, she looks Wow! I do agree that the Geldofs' sometimes over do it but you must understand that they love trends, but the trends just don't love them, they both need either a trainer or pick out clothes that fit them better, but their taste in fashion is incredible! Natasha luv it, luv it, luv it! Big Fan of the whole ensemble! And I agree with ames comment, I think Mischa looks amazing here, but she could have done something different with the hair...an updo even a pontail up very high or a messy bun, they are hot on the runway now, the indian girl hippie headband isn't good for EVERYTHING, put it to rest Mischa, its a whole new year!

I wish Mischa would quit it with those stupid headbands already.

did someone actually inquire about bilson's shoes? i would think the point of this would be to help us identify items that aren't blatantly obvious...

Geldof and Mischa look so messy and NOT in a good way. Both trying waaay too hard. Jesus, if they can't be original with their look why don't they try to look at least decent? I think Rachel's the only one who got it right this time. I'm so glad there's people who don't follow every single trend and she manages to look classy, interesting and cute. Love it!

Mischa actually looks really great here. The Geldofs can fall away into oblivion. They annoy me.
