Just in time for the weekend, we have an extra special dose of celebrity and runway fashion for you! Surely, you've kept tabs on our monthly Tips and applied them accordingly to your outfits, but if not, we advise you to check out our archives for some inspiration. We suspect you'll find them exceptionally helpful now, considering all of the upcoming holiday gatherings. In today's pointers, we coined three final ideas for you to test out. Learn them, utilize them, love them!
Try harem pants for a new nighttime look.
After just one glance at the getup Margherita Missoni wore a few weeks ago for The Garden of Eden premiere in Rome, we knew we had our first tip! In the spirit of her stunning look, we suggest trying harem trousers as a fresh base for your evening ensembles! Fancy pants and slouchy slacks are always splendid nighttime options, but something about these unexpected Aladdinish trousers are particularly appealing. You might as well figure out how to wear them now, as they were featured heavily on the F/W 08 and S/S 09 runways and are definitely here to stay. Miss Missoni yielded simply sublime results in a Nina Ricci Satin Cropped Pants
($1575), Maison Martin Margiela jacket, Bottega Veneta bag, and Christian Louboutin Neurone Heels ($1345, 310.247.9300). Take a cue from the fashion house heir by sporting Express' Pleated Knit Crop Pants ($30) or Zimmermann's Emmeline

One of our key recipes for producing original and stylish looks involves mixing together unexpected clothing combinations. Take this advice with a grain of salt; we're not suggesting you sport your body-conscious dress with a corduroy cape, but some less extreme pairings can work very well. For instance, observe how Olivia Palermo showed off her wardrobe blending abilities at the Art Rocks! Benefit in New York City last month. The Manhattan stylista offset her sexy American Apparel Shiny Late Night Skirt ($32) with a straitlaced top from Kmart (we're just as pleasantly surprised as you!), and completed the look with an All Saints jacket and Chanel bag. Try your own take on the look by combining Juicy Couture's Puff Sleeve Bow Blouse
($178) with American Apparel's Shiny High-Waist Skirt ($44).
Embellish outfits with military frogged pieces.
We pay an honorable WhoWhatWear salute to Erin Wasson, whose recent attire substantiates our third and final tip today! Wasson recently attended the launch of the Tattoo Heart Collection to Benefit UNICEF cocktail reception in New York City dressed in a charcoal gray vintage tee, Les Chiffoniers PVC Leggings, pair of vintage Balenciaga boots, and an Alexander McQueen Military Waistcoat ($6695, 323.782.4983). As usual, Wasson's entire ensemble is fantastic, but we can't help but fixate on her exceptional vest! By selecting the gold frogged piece, Wasson takes the current military trend to the next level and ends up with a fresh version of a familiar look. I heart Margherita Missoni.. Not so into the pants, but she pulls it off and always looks amazing. I especially like the makeup and as below, her shoes are 'sickeningly fabulous' lol

taryn, if you go to target, wet seal or forever 21, they have plenty of shiny leggings that are cheap (around 7$ or a little more) just thought id let you know.

these are yukky! missoni looks weird, olivia looks pretty but dull, and erin ( lol eric) looks just so skinny and pissed off and her feet look huge. bad choices. thats all.

just a note here, HArlem pants are not fuctional for most women and there body type because they accenuate all the WRONG places and make you look like hammer time. also, PVC leggings are the same way and look horrible on most people. (plus i doubt any bf would touch that after you have worn them all day) BUT, i do like the looks the ladys have here. they can pull it off. Can you incorporate some looks that are built for women who have curves please?

Margherita's shoes are wonderful, but the rest of the look, especially the hair and makeup, is not for me. I love Olivia's outfit, it is especially perfect for a situation where you are required to dress more on the conservative side. And her hair is AMAZING. Erin does nothing for me, especially down around the ankles where something funky is going on.
