hmmm, i'm not so sure that the bandage dress will not go out of style, everyone who wears them looks a bit 'slapper' in my opinion, LL for example, to me its high fashion for playmates, and should be steered clear of unless you are anya rubik. the white shirt look by KL is so frumpy, many better versions could be found, but i get the point. I love the trouser look, very cool.
I'm pretty sure everyone understands what an investment piece is and the fact that they are high-quality pieces, but the fact of the matter is that most people simply can't afford to spend $1500 on a dress. Still, it's nice to have a guide to go by. Investment pieces do not cost fifty bucks. The bandage dress will NEVER go out of style. The tuxedo jacket will NEVER go out of style. Red lipstick. Never goes out of style.....do the cost per wear analysis if you think any of these pieces are expensive and you will find they are actually cheaper than the disposable fashion you buy at H&M or Forever 21. If you don't understand an 'investment' piece then you shouldn't be buying one because inevitably you will be disappointed and wasting your $$$. But they're still expensive, lol Veronica, they corrected it. It used to say "if she’d lived in the seventies."
Steph, that's why they're called investment pieces, because you spend a lot of money on quality items to last a lifetime. these are all sooooo expensive i wish i could afford this stuff i love it all! every single item! these are great pieces to invest in because they will never go out of style. i've been wanting a really great tuxedo blazer for months now. Does anyone know where I can get one for under $60? I haven't found one that I truly love yet. Unless they have recently corrected the post, it says 'something Hepburn would have worn in the seventies,' not 'if she lived in the seventies.'
I love the pieces, but shouldn't you invest in classic pieces instead of more trendy items that most likely won't last through the season?

If you like the bandage dress you can find some similar dresses from BCBG or BCBGeneration for a much more affordable price.
Like this one for example
http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/43675841/c/3.html Okay, who ever put this together should get their selves checked. No offense, but the Herve Leger bandage dress is OVER and played out the way Christian Louboutin's are played out. It's a go-to dress (a beacon of unoriginality) when celebrities don't have anything else to wear to an event.
The only worthy investment I see here is the Chanel 2.55 (or the quilted bag) bag, because that's something you can keep and wear for a lifetime. I love the dress <3 AUDREY Hepburn died in 1993 and KATHERINE Hepburn died in 2003. Is there a third Hepburn that youre referring to when you say she "would have worn them IF she had lived in the seventies?"
check your facts or you'll sound like an ignoramus Uh, Hepburn DID live in the 70s. I love love love, the dress, skirt from topshop and the bag. So nice. love them all.
www.cforchic.blogspot.com The only thing on this page that could be considered "trendy" by a stretch of the imagination is the bandage dress. A blazer/tuxedo jacket is very classic, as are trousers that are tailored to fit you, those can be worn forever, as well as plain black skirt. Red lipstick is personal preference, but I would hardly call it trendy. hmmm to me investment pieces are classics, things that you will be able to wear for years to come.
while these pieces are nice, the only real investment i see here is the chanel bag and the white dress shirt. everything else is just trendy |
