Obsession du Jour:

Obsession du Jour: House of Harlow 1960

If you've already finalized your holiday wish lists, you may consider making some changes after reading today's story. In our opinion, it's quite acceptable to make a few last-minute additions to your roster, especially when they're as dazzling as our selection of House of Harlow 1960 jewelry. In fact, the difficulty lies in not getting too greedy and asking for all of it, but it's impossible to not want each and every item! The designer behind this new line, Nicole Richie (perhaps you've heard of her), is aiming to make cool, inexpensive adornments that will suit a variety of styles and we do declare she is succeeding thus far. Her debut 35-piece collection is a brilliant combination of tribal, gypsy, and bohemian-influenced accessories, so there is a little something here for everyone!

Unlike many celebrity-endorsed lines, Richie's involvement in House of Harlow 1960 is very hands on from start to finish. Her personal touches are apparent in the brand's name (after her daughter) and statement-making designs that clearly represent Richie's innovative style. The build-up for the label started months before its recent introduction to stores, so we imagine the pieces will sell out quickly. Just to be safe, you should get your hands on your favorites (or drop hints to your beloveds) as soon as you can. If by chance you miss out on this first round, stay tuned, because there is more to come. That's right, word on the street is Richie will is expanding the line to include belts, shoes, and sunglasses! Sunnies crafted from the sunglasses guru herself? Sign us up! In the meantime, here are a few of our most-liked HOH pieces!—Jessica Amento

The Sunburst ring is a Must have!!! The collection is Fabulous! I'm a little dissappointed in the black cuff, the inside is amazingly done but the outside leather is not that great;( needs a little bit more fine finish so it won't come off. A bit heavy but all in all it's affordable!! Nicole has done an amazing job and really contribute in the fashion biz! Keep up the good work .......;)

i really like these pieces, very geometrical yet very tribey and bohemian. i love the large leather sunburst ring. i've become enamored with big rings lately.

Looking at this I realize that Rachel Zoe's influence is apparently permanent.

i think that celebrities taking on jewelry lines is so much more successful than clothing lines. i love how it allows them to translate their own fashion sense into something that is often loved by all of their followers. http://cryystalballer.blogspot.com/

I loved her when she was a naughty overgrown teen on "The Simple Life" & I love her now that she's a grown-up mom/ fashion designer/ charity type woman. Paris should take notes! I love EVERY SINGLE piece, and they are reasonably priced- what more could you ask for?

I really like these, the quality of the pieces is apparent in the pictures and the price point is pretty great! But I am wondering how you wear the red cuff without stabbing either your hand or your forearm?

Thank you, Ms. Richie for creating adorable pieces that the average joe can afford. Makes me love you even more.

They are gorgeous! Its not easy to find the right black earrings and those are perfect!

some of these pieces are great. the rest, look just as fashiongirl said, "eighties gone bad." and i am so sick of celebrities who create their own lines. 90% of the time, all they do is approve the item and stamp their names on it. there is no way nicole actually designed these things herself.

I love the geometric and graphic quality of these pieces.

Posted by: Tracy |  2008-12-23 05:36:12

I really like them all actually - definitely my kind of jewelry.

eighties gone bad, every single piece. wtf?

Posted by: fashiongirl |  2008-12-23 02:53:00

there's not a single piece in here that i don't love! nicole richie is such a fashion icon and i'm so glad she's come along and created her own line. fashion.frenzi.blogspot.com
