MySpace Muses: March
Whether they’re creating new combos (florals and stripes), wearing the latest silhouettes (tapered pants), or simply styling their outfits in smart ways (drapey neutrals plus basic black), we swoon for our MySpace Muses’ personal style. We are thoroughly proud to present today’s group of girls, a collection of trendsetters who truly put the muse in amusing. All punning aside, these fashionable females put themselves together in a delightful and engaging way and should be celebrated for their taste and try-anything attitude. Now, on to the eye-catching ensembles themselves!
Floral tights and stripes make a winning combo.
Starting with the top row, far left, we have our first muse, Katelyn Rose, 16, who hails from Los Angeles and paired bold floral-print tights with a strong striped blouse. Though this look is not for the fashion fearful, it’s got a great youthful spirit. Try it yourself with either Miss Selfridge’s Bohemian Floral Tights ($11) or Look From London’s Wild Garden Tights ($28) and Banana Republic’s BR Monogram Puff-Sleeve Striped Shirt
($95). Add paper-bag shorts and contrasting heels at your own discretion!
Transition into spring with bright lips and liberty prints.
Moving along to our next standout outfit, we have Alice, 21, from Krakow, Poland (top row, middle), wearing an ideal transitional outfit. By combining a seasonal floral print skirt and bright lipstick with cold-weather necessities (tights, boots, cozy hooded jacket), Alice looks seasonally appropriate and stylish too. If you’re looking for a vivid lipstick, you’ll love Shiseido’s Perfect Rouge Lipstick ($25) in Dragon
or Salon, as well as Max Factor’s Vivid Impact Lipstick ($9) in Ablaze

. Additionally, we must suggest checking out Topshop’s Premium Floral Corset Playsuit ($100) and Erin Wasson X RVCA’s Side Show Dress ($140), both posey-centric pieces. Though expensive, See by Chloe’s 3/4 Sleeve Liberty Print Dress

Tapered trousers look smart with a cropped jacket.
Our next chic style example is Bettina, 20, (top row, right) a Norwegian trendsetter who knows exactly how to wear tapered trousers. We love how she selected a snug, cropped jacket to balance the inherent volume of her carrot pants. (The body-con top and combat boots are perfection too.) Should you find yourself in need of a similarly sophisticated, draped pair of trousers, Free People’s Pocket Harem Pants
($98) will fill the bill nicely. On a non-pantalones note, we like ADAM’s Cropped Blazer

We picked Martine, 21, Orange County (bottom row, middle) because she’s working her own interpretation of the Balmain look. Check your favorite local vintage boutique (or visit the beloved Nasty Gal) for sequin dresses with a similar silhouette. I like the maturity and class that comes through in pics 2,3,4 & 6. The others are just random and nothing alludes to a sense of style. I don't think there is anything special about pic 1, it looks sloppy, nothing fresh, cheap, trying too hard. The others come across naturally, simply and understated. Coline is a gorgeous girl, can't wait to check out her other site.
