Thanks to colorful outfit choices and de-bundled ensembles, this month's crop of MySpace Muses has us humming "Here Comes the Sun" and working on our warm-weather style. The timing is perfect: after all, what are the free and easy days of summer if not a time to experiment with awesome ensembles? The longer days just mean more opportunities to change your clothes, right? Indeed! As such, we were delighted to find such a wild array of ladies wearing everything from peek-a-boo leggings to shrunken vests to bold turquoise stripes. Just look to these fashion-forward examples for inspiration; they're the best way to free yourself from feeling the June gloom.
Skinny jeans and lace-up boots blend well with a floral frock.
Our first muse, Jen, 24, from Georgia, teaches us a little something about what it takes to master modern Southern-belle style! Although skinny jeans tucked into lace-up boots is not necessarily something Scarlett O'Hara would don, Jen sweetened up these city-girl standard pieces by pairing them with a floral frock. Achieve your own version of Jen's budding personal style with JET's
Bolt Pocket Skinny Jeans ($159) and your favorite ankle booties. We like LD Tuttle's
The Prospect

($550) version for a trendy take on a closet staple—the open-toe design is perfect for a warm-weather wardrobe. And of course, you can't finish this look without paying homage to a trend in bloom (that would be
unfussy florals)! Try Urban Renewal's
Floral Knit Tank Dress ($48) for a piece you can easily layer a sweater and blazer over—ŕ la Jen—or Kate Moss for Topshop's
Floral Printed ($100) version for a little more movement and prairie flair.
Ultra-pale jeans set off safari colors in an of-the-moment way.
A safari-inspired palette is a spring-and-summer staple, but this standby looks particularly current when brightened up with a pair of nearly white jeans as Shini, 22, from London, deftly demonstrates. Steal a page from her style-file with J Brand's
Ankle Stretch Skinny Jeans

($179), then further update the look with a safari jacket in a summery, short-sleeve style. We recommend the Joie
Raina Cargo Jacket

($298) or Antik Batik's
Perfecto Jacket ($890) in suede to add an extra layer of unexpected luxe.
A delicate, gauzy top adds femininity to a body-con skirt and boots.
Noelle, 26, from LA, shows off an amazing mix-and-match spirit with her intriguing blend of past and present. By juxtaposing a vintage-inspired romantic top with a body-con skirt and sturdy boots, she created an outfit that's both unique and covetable. This lovely look is all about balance, so choose an easy basic like Topshop's
Paneled Body-Con Skirt ($44) and pair it with a sweet top. We like See by Chloe's
Short Sleeve V-Neck Ruffle Blouse
($240) —it also makes for a great "date-top"—or Nom De Plume By YAYA's
Embroidered Gauze Racerback Tank ($68) for less of an investment. The tank's ruffle-trimmed scoopneck and subtle embroidery make it the perfect choice for summer nights. And finally, throw on your favorite pair of lace-up boots you still have lingering around from winter, or spring forward with Dolce Vita's
Reno ($155), a trendsetting choice with cool cutouts and a wedge heel.
Classic black trousers look smart with a boldly striped blouse.
Everyone loves it when a fail-safe classic gets a much-needed update, so it's no surprise we adored this modern menswear outfit, courtesy of Diane, 21, from Atlanta. It's totally traditional, yet the bright-striped blouse updates it in a chic and spot-on (or should we say striped-on?) way. You can recreate Diane's polished look with a standard black trouser from your own closet or Banana Republic's
Martin Stretch Cotton

($79) version. Top your trousers off with a turquoise-stripe top, like the Lauren by Lauren Priya
Striped Shirt ($80), to inject a similar dose of cool into this elegant look.
Cut-out leggings offer a fresh take on the standard style.
At WhoWhatWear.com, we always applaud a bold fashion statement—especially when it works. One great example of a daring outfit is the ensemble that Michelle, 24, from London sent in. Her cut-out leggings may be a sartorial wild card, but she made this tricky style look smooth by keeping the rest of her outfit simple and modest. It's clearly a brave move and not for the faint of thigh, but it's quite fashion-forward and cool. If you keep the rest of your ensemble quietly conservative and make sure your top half's covered, take a leap of legging and try out this trend with LNA's
Olivia Thrashed Gathered Bottom Leggings ($129).
Bohemian tunics and denim vests are a perfect summer combo.
The
Almost Famous-inspired ensemble of our final muse, Isabella, 21, from Germany, has us craving the endless days of summer, filled with outdoor music festivals and leisurely strolls. There's something about sunshine-y days that calls for footloose and fancy-free bohemian style. Cultivate Isabella's look with a printed tunic like Rebecca Taylor's
Wildflower Tunic

($280), which is so sweet you can almost smell the flowers in bloom, or Free People's
Floral Halter ($108) for a sexier tunic-like take. Top it off with a denim layer, like Current/Elliott's
Double Breasted Vest ($264) in the High Low wash or Mango's
Waistcoat ($60), and you'll be ready to lollygag around all season long.—Liza Kaplan

Michelle DOES need a post of her own! I read her blog, and she comes up with some truly original outfits that go above and beyond simple trends.

Very innovative looks, I love the striped shirt, but I'm not so fond of the cut out leggings... http://www.bettyconfidential.com/
Posted by: Tessa | 2009-06-07 19:43:06
Michelle in the cut-out leggings is really setting the tone for avant garde, daring and original fashion. This woman is truly a trailblazer in the world of fashion!

One poster complained about these girls lacking 'humanity', another let us know they are 'disgusting'. This is a fashion blog, for God's sake, try not to let rage overcome you and be a little polite, ok?
Posted by: Caitlin | 2009-06-07 11:25:56
I love Michelle. #5 Here style is unique, and her blog is one I check out almost daily. I find most europeans are heads and tails above anyone in the states when it comes to fashion. She is how I wish I could dress. That jacket is killer. Most of the other ladies are quite normal. Very a typical of what you see walking down the street in L.A. Though #3's outfit I dig.

ew to all, atleast michelle is experimenting with those leggings, it just doesnt work. noelle looks okay i guess. number 4 is disgusting. so is one and two oh and six

I don't get what's the point of these 'Muses' posts if you don't provide their bloglinks :\
Posted by: alyssa | 2009-06-04 13:57:34
I'm confused, why would Michelle "send in" an image of herself from her blog with utterly incorrect information. Has someone from WWW just pinched the pic from her blog and tried to pull a fast one?!

Park and cube always have great style! Queen Michelle is fabulous! http://eiffelinseoul.blogspot.com

The third girl is Noelle Valdivia. She is blogging now? Does anybody know the address?

I agree that fashion as a whole has gone VERY mainstream! I also agree that WWW is all about trends, so why is everyone upset about them reporting trends? And can someone PLEASE tell me why there is so much infatuation with Michelle's outfit? I don't really see a problem with her leggings, but more so with the top of her outfit. An orange sequined blazer? And whats with the gray loine cloth? Is she channeling her inner Michael Jackson/Tarzan/ The Grudge?
Posted by: Britni | 2009-06-03 21:29:52
I actually like Michelle's look. Of course I am a huge fan of Isa and the lot but Michelle looks truly original. I couldn't pull it off, but I appreciate the look and I adore that shade of citrus! www.ontheblogbandwagon.blogspot.com

All outfits are pretty cute except for the 5th. I would love to see her wear that on a Saturdat night at a club. People would be like "What the hell?" lol
Posted by: Monica | 2009-06-03 14:57:52
About the girls being predictable and trendy, isn't Whowhatwear ABOUT trends? What are you doing in a trend report site if you don't want to see the 'same shit'? Although I do think that a better outfit could've been chosen, especially for Shini (2nd) since it doesn't do her style any justice.

2 and 3! love shini's style. --- http://www.parkandcube.com/ egotrippingatthegates.blogspot.com

I love the floral print dresses! I just did a fashion spread about florals at my blog http://beautyandthebudget.onsugar.com ! Check it out!
Posted by: valerie | 2009-06-02 22:52:39
1, 5, and 6 look really good. The cut out leggings are really original but not many people could pull them off without stick thin legs--I'd opt for distressed black denim. Kind of agree with Alex about everything being pretty predictable these days. But fashion in general's gone pretty mainstream lately, hence everyone kind of wearing the same "trends"?
Posted by: r | 2009-06-02 18:35:47
I'd like to see what the cut-out leggings look like from the back.
Posted by: JBINTokyo | 2009-06-02 17:57:19

Posted by: Leslie | 2009-06-02 11:52:11
Hi It's Michelle. Just want to clarify that I'm actually 36 not 24 and from Glasgow not London.
Posted by: Michelle | 2009-06-02 10:26:26
that fifth girl looks like a crackhead... seriously those leggings are just not cool... I wouldn't wear that outfit. Would any of you?
Posted by: taryn | 2009-06-02 10:20:31
guhhh this is the same shit over and over again. booties, floral, self-conscious posing, mixing menswear with a ~ feminine aesthetic~. I know it's ya'lls jobs to be on top of the trends, but everything has been looking the same for a while. These girls are so clearly influenced by all things "now" that their individualism is nowhere near apparent. It's fine if that's what you guys are about, but thing are getting a little too "How to Dress 101" rather than inspirational. There is no humanity to any of these girls.
Posted by: Alex | 2009-06-02 09:58:24
Love them all!!! Most of all the 5th girl!!!! Amazing!!! Also Like the 6th & 3ed girl!!! www.lovellegirl.blogspot.com http://www.lovellegirl.blogspot.com

I like the third girl. Does she have a blog? Love the boots.
Posted by: Samata | 2009-06-02 09:46:55
I feel like Queen Michelle (5th girl) needs a whole post of her own, outshining everyone! her blog is kingdomofstyle.typepad.co.uk/
Posted by: Shini | 2009-06-02 06:56:15
I would love to see the 5th girls blog if she has one. Amazing outfit. All the other girls look great as well, though I do not think they are as refreshing.
Posted by: Mariëlle | 2009-06-02 05:51:36
I ADORE the girl in #5. Does she have a blog? I'd love to read it.
Posted by: Haley | 2009-06-02 03:40:09
skinny jeans mixing up with floral tops is always one of my favorites showing a next door style. AND, it's easy as i guess every girl would have such pieces in wardrobe. normally it'll be a comfy and leisure look, but the appearnce of flattering blazer, and lace-up boots makes it sophisticated
