Look Forward To: Spring Trends
During our weekly visit to the newsstand, we were struck by how many magazines hit the same note on their January covers. As you might have noticed too, nearly every glossy has some form of the phrase “New Year, New You!” as a cover line and the issues are stuffed with ideas about how to better your current situation. (Apparently we're all gauche, ungroomed, and depressed if the typical suggestions—365 Ways To Look Chic! 99 Beauty Tricks You Need Now! Fix Your Life In 8 Easy Steps!—are any indication.)
We’re all for self-improvement, but we figured you might like to kick off your new year with something other than a list of instructions about how to upgrade your life. Rather than going the traditional magazine route, we decided to take the inspirational one, and whipped up a little seasonal preview for you instead. We hope you take as much delight in today’s Look Forward To: Spring 09 Trends as we did in creating it (we love betting on which shapes and styles will be the next big things).

I believe the big sleeves have such a negative connotation because of the 80s overkill. But look closer, these are not your mothers sleeves. These are classic fashion, that add structure to a basic jacket.

To be honest I don't like any of these trends too 80's and I don't think the 80 nor 90's should come back, the 60's in the other hand, I like that style;)

ok, for the spring 2009 trends i like the rhinestones, cage shoes, 1st bib necklace and the first drawstring bag (the other one looks like christmas colors), i like the sharp shoulders for fashion but don't think i could pull it off, and i like the first pair of silky pants and all the mini-skirts! ahhh!!!! so excited!

Great post!! The only trend that I'm not a huge fan of is the cage shoe. I don't think that's one that will even manage to grow on me.

Amazing!!! I love everything. The drawstring bags remind me of the MiuMiu drawstring Nicole Richie has been carrying forever. I've been waiting for more to be available. And the sheer is amazing as well. LOVE LOVE LOVE
