Girl Of The Month

Girl Of The Month: Rosie Huntington

During a recent routine web browsing session, we came across a short and simple fashion forum post about Rosie Huntington-Whiteley that piqued our interest. The note, written way back in the summer of 2004, told the world to, "stay tuned, because this girl will blow you away." At the time of this prophetic message, Huntington-Whiteley was merely a year-deep into her modeling career and completely unknown to us, but the statement has proved to be true. The petite beauty (she’s only 5'9", short by industry standards) has not only taken the fashion world by storm, but she’s also swanned her way into our good graces too, thanks to her terribly chic personal style.

Huntington-Whiteley really popped up on our radar in late summer, when she started appearing in the big Burberry fall advertisement spreads, but we’d noticed her before. In addition to her modeling accolades (which include prestigious campaigns with Victoria’s Secret, BCBG, and Topshop, runway shows, and key shoots for various fashion magazines), Huntington-Whiteley is also a bit of a British scenester. She’s got a rock’n’roll pedigreed boyfriend, Ty Wood (son of Rolling Stone, Ronnie Wood), and goes to all the best London parties, so it’s no wonder that some fashion insiders are setting her up to be the next Kate Moss. Obviously those are some pretty big Loubis to fill, but—as her November British Vogue cover shows—Huntington-Whiteley just might be up for the job.

Of course, the key to becoming a huge fashion icon, especially one on par with Glossy Mossy, is to have impeccable taste in clothing. Thus far, Huntington-Whiteley’s demonstrated she’s got a sophisticated sort of personal style that has much potential. In fact, while creating her Girl of the Month layout, we had a difficult time narrowing down our favorite looks, because Ms. H-W seems to achieve perfection with every color and silhouette she tries! Whether she's clad in a bright white Foley + Corinna Embroidered Silk Dress and Christian Louboutin's City Girl platform sandals for a Louis Vuitton dinner, or stunning onlookers in a Burberry sweater, vintage cropped blazer, Les Chiffoniers Leggings ($330), and Balmain boots at Diesel's XXX Creative Experiment, she is equally captivating.

Thus far, we’ve noticed that Huntington-Whiteley has several sartorial signatures: she always has an of-the-moment clutch in her hand, seems to love short hemlines, and tends to prefer somber hues. A few of her leading ensembles include the sequined Burberry mini dress, platform heels, and jeweled clutch she wore to the re-opening of the fashion house’s Beverly Hills store and the colorful Peter Pilotto Dress ($920, 212.965.9964), Burberry Tux Jacket, and Burberry Ruched Cross Strap Pumps icon ($695) combo she showed off at a GQ/Burberry dinner. It's safe to say Huntington-Whiteley has met and exceeded the predictions of our aforementioned fashion forum savant, so we'll reiterate their wise words: stay tuned into this one, because she certainly has the sort of style worth watching!—Jessica Amento

I like this one. No she's not terribly quirky or innovative, but she's got a good, clean face & her style is understated, which is what beautiful women can get away with. 1 & 2 are my favorite.... I'd snatch those off her on the street!

From what I can see here I don't think I'll like her as a model. I'll have to keep an eye out for her work.. She does have a cute style though. exquisillusiore.blogspot.com exquisillusiore.blogspot.com exquisillusiore.blogspot.com exquisillusiore.blogspot.com exquisillusiore.blogspot.com

It is definitely nice to see a model being complimented for her totally wearable, relatable style. She never looks over done or makes you wonder what she was thinking, yet still adds her own flair to every outfit through accessories. I absolutely love her first look from head to toe. I do agree with "M," however. I do not see many apparent similarities in style between the two.

well isnt she gorgeous? she has such a refreshing face. but the first two looks and the last one are the best.

So weird I've been following her style for the past month now and shes divine. Great, simple edgy style

She's a very pretty girl, but her style doesn't seem any more profound from every other (more) stylish woman I see on a daily basis in NYC.

Yea I love her style, but "the next Kate Moss"?!!? Are you kidding me?!!? Next time save the comment for someone actually worthy of the title.

I can see myself in all these looks. Great style! She looks a bit like Juliette Lewis. And of course, the requisite celebrity offspring reference in the GOTM!

Great choice! She's been on my style/beauty radar for a couple of months now and I'd love to see more of her.
