We’re not usually prone to nursery rhymes around the WhoWhatWear.com office, but lately we can’t get the words to “One, Two, Buckle My Shoe” out of our heads. Thankfully, there is a good reason why we keep humming this terrible tune: the delectable medley of buckle boots that are popping up on the feet of stylish ladies left and right! Truth be told, we are still obsessing over
fetish footwear and
over-the-knee boots, but buckle boots may very well win the competition for best fall shoe. The runways displayed a ton of great versions, from futuristic and multicolored types at Marc by Marc Jacobs to pointy, Salem-style varieties at Etro to posh platform interpretations, courtesy of Wunderkind. Unsurprisingly, the shoes caused a great deal of excitement, and celebrities have shown their love for them ever since their debut! With your wardrobe’s best interest at heart, we’d like to not-so-shyly urge you to pick up a pair (or five) now.
If you’re wondering how to wear this of-the-moment essential, we have a few key examples. During New York Fashion Week, Agyness Deyn added a modish touch to her little black dress and fancy coat combo with a pair of Marc by Marc Jacobs
Biker Boots ($940). You can also look to Whitney Port, who offset her flirty skirt and fitted vest with Fiorentini Baker’s
Eli Boots ($525) on her recent shopping venture in Soho. These ladies demonstrate that this boot style can make a seamless transition from low key to upscale occasions—such versatility is invaluable! They can even take the place of
Chucks
($44) or ballet flats in more casual outfits, like the Chloe
Studded Ankle Boots ($1800) Willa Holland wore with leggings while walking to the
Gossip Girl set in Queens. To save you the hassle of rummaging through shoe and department stores, we found a profusion of buckle boots for today’s story that are just a click away from your closet!
1. Nine West Nobello Bootie

($136)
It is no secret that Nine West is our go-to source for budget-friendly, trend-focused footwear, so we weren’t surprised to find some relevant boots for today’s story from their online store. This pair is a cool update to their widely admired
ankle boot cousins, and they are eccentrically detailed with circle
and square buckles!
2. Camilla Skovgaard
High Heel Buckle Bootie
($588)
While we feel it’s always critical to have several sets of black boots at your disposal, we’re equally passionate about owning a fantastic pair of tan or gray boots, too. These elephant-colored suede booties are a refreshing alternative to your black standards, plus they are decorated with five divine buckles.
3. Marc by Marc Jacobs 3-Buckle Biker Boot ($955)
If you are in a catatonic stupor on account of looking at these spectacular booties, you are not alone dear readers! As the sister shoe to Agyness’ pair above, these shoes are meticulously designed with three buckles and three zippers. In the words of our new favorite reality heroine, “We die!”
4. Jinny Kim Nyla Flat Buckle Boot in Black

($434)
While designers applied the buckle craze to ankle booties and mid-calf boots, there are also some great over-the-knee options available! To ensure that this take on the trend didn’t get overlooked, we found this awesome pair from Korean-designer, Jinny Kim, for your consideration. The shape has a hint of equestrian sophistication and the discrete double buckles are a subtle way to try the trend.
5. Jeffrey Campbell Josh Ankle Boot
($177)
In addition to the stellar assortment of heeled boots we picked out today, we made an earnest effort tracking down some great flat options for you, as well. You will surely turn heads in these brown-leather beauties, but not at the expense of your arches! We suggest trying them with black leggings, an oversized cashmere tunic, and a vibrant scarf for a look that totally channels Kate Bosworth.
6.Topshop Almond2 Studded Ankle Boot ($150)
After falling head over heels (no pun intended) for the slew of buckle boots shown on the Etro runways, we made it our mission to find something similar at an inexpensive price. We knew we accomplished our undertaking when we found this style at Topshop. Plus, the adorned studs are simply bad ass.
7. KORS Michael Kors Patent Mogul Buckle Granny Bootie

($395)
We’ll gladly walk a mile in anyone’s shoes—as long as they look like these. This luscious pair ties the lace-up and buckle trends into one great boot, and we are ecstatic with the results! This style needs to be seen, so we’d pair them with a leg-baring, thigh-grazing frock topped with a knee-length coat to keep your gams warm in the chilly autumn months.—Jessica Amento

Some of the boots are really cute. The celebrities posted here wore them horribly. I think you need a lot of confidence a great legs to pull this boot look off.

Marc Jacobs is just so RAD! Love everything he puts out there (for the ladies at least...I still think he is fine tuning menswear). Into Vintage? Check my Ebay Store! http://luvvy-luvvy.blogspot.com/

Love this post and I also adore buckle boots and over the knee options. I've got a pair of both styles by Miss Sixty which is a great source for stylish and affordable footwear.
