I'm going to Paris for a long weekend, what should I pack?
Paris is truly one of my favorite travel destinations—I can't think of a better city to call a girl's best friend. Be it the people, the culture, or the fashion, you know everything is always très chic! That being said, I am always highly style conscious—even more so than usual!—when making my way down the Champs-Élysées as to fit in with the Parisian locals.
For a daytime outfit, I recommend that you start with some brilliant denim. There are two silhouettes that I swear by and always pack whenever I take a trip—slick and skinny, and fun and flared. Let the denim be your open canvas for the rest of your clothing options and accessories; I often times find it best to start with bottoms when putting together a whole look. To add a touch of simplicity, opt for a black v-neck tee; the black will give you that European cool girl factor. Layer on a cape and wide-brimmed hat—both of these options ensure that you're warm against the cool air when atop the Eiffel Tower. In the footwear department, choose black wedge booties to give you height while you sightsee and partake in your own Monet scenery. Accessorize with a cross-body bag and a pair of mod shades, and no one can tell you that you're not à la mode!
Of course, your trip to Paris wouldn't be complete without a nighttime escapade! As you make your way through the city of lights in all its evening glory, transform yourself into a Roitfeld—Carine is the epitome of Parisian chic. Trade your jeans from earlier in the day for a short and sultry LBD. If you want to accentuate your figure and draw attention to your waist, I suggest you pack a patent crocodile belt. Throw on a classic leather jacket to continue your European cool girl edge and pair this ensemble with your same wedge booties from earlier—they work wonders as a day to night shoe. Break up your all-black look with a standout snakeskin clutch and you're ready to take the Paris nightlife by storm.
As they say in French, bisou bisou! RZ
