You'll Barely Recognize Katy Perry in Her New Vogue Cover Shoot

Erin Fitzpatrick

You would be forgiven if you hardly recognize Katy Perry in her new Vogue cover shoot, released today. Photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, Perry is clad in amazingly outlandish looks, from a giant red wig to super-size dresses. How's that for being a clothing chameleon?

It's no coincidence that Katy Perry wears head-to-toe Comme des Garçons throughout the shoot: As you may know, the legendary Japanese brand is the subject of this year's Costume Institute exhibition and gala. (Mark your calendars: The Met Gala will be held on May 1.) Perry wears a range of archival looks in the images, from Rei Kawakubo's 2005 collection to her 2017 one. In other words, this cover shoot is basically a fashion girl's dream. Head over to Vogue to see all the images and read her interview.
