The Bag You Should NEVER Wear to a Vogue Interview
Preparing for any sort of job interview can be totally nerve-wracking. Preparing for an interview at Vogue? That's a whole other level of nerves. If you're ever lucky enough to score an opportunity to do so, however, don't fret. We have the scoop on the best interview advice straight from the company itself. As a part of its new Vogue VIP series, the magazine let readers submit questions to Accessories Director Selby Drummond on everything from a typical day for her to (you guessed it) which bag style to leave at home for an interview. One VIP asked, "What if your agenda includes interviewing a potential employee? Any advice for candidates?" Here's what she had to say:
"Dress for the job you want," Drummond said. "It sounds really obvious, but you would be amazed how many people come and interview for a fashion job wearing something that they should never wear in this office." If it's an interview with Vogue, Drummond advised against wearing the color black, and no matter what, leaving this accessory at home: "Honestly, I don't feel like I ever want to see another bucket bag," she said. When Vogue lays down a serious fashion rule like that, we listen. Instead, opt for a more structured bag that will hold everything you need and still look totally chic.
