Visionaries Lauren Paul & Molly Thompson

by CMG Studios

Lauren Paul and Molly Thompson met while studying film at Pepperdine University. As victims of bullying in the past, the two joined forces to launch the Kind Campaign, a nonprofit focused on spreading an anti-bullying message to girls across America. Since then, Paul has been awarded the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Public Education Award and the Open Hearts Foundation’s Open Heart Award, and Thompson was presented with Delta Gamma Fraternity’s Courage Award. Thompson’s chosen Amulette de Cartier stone is onyx, which symbolizes courage and strength, while Paul’s Amulette stone is malachite, a symbol of hope and guidance.

One of my favorite quotes was said by Howard Thurman. It reads: ‘Don't ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.’ There is nothing more inspiring than a person who comes alive when they share what they do for a living or what they’re passionate about. Figure out what makes your heart beat faster. You will be a better version of yourself if you find a way to do what you love, whether that takes the form of a career or a hobby. With that said, I think it is incredibly important to be intentional about serving others. Regardless of what your career is, you can look into local non-profits or community projects and volunteer. Find something that grabs at your heart; feeding the homeless, animal rights initiatives, beach clean ups, spending time at an assisted living facility…I truly believe that dedicating some of your time to bettering the world and reaching out to others makes for a more fulfilling and meaningful life. Also, be present and go outside. Phone down, face up.

Don't forget why you started pursuing your dreams in the first place. Hold on to your passion and don't give up when you find that something may be difficult to achieve. Reach out to people around you for support and don't be afraid to ask for help. Find a friend who has similar interests and go after your dreams together, you really can change the world with your friends.
