Pieces in This Uniqlo Collection Have Sold Out in 5 Minutes

Designer collaborations, especially ones that come at an accessible price point, often have a history of selling out and then disappearing forever (save for the occasional sighting on a resell site). But not Uniqlo U. While the line does sell fast, the collection is not just a one-shot deal: The Japanese retailer works permanently in partnership Christophe Lemaire, the former Hermès artistic director and designer of his own eponymous Lemaire line, for an ongoing take on elevated, modern, and slightly unconventional essentials and wardrobe-building basics. And with the drop of the S/S 17 collection happening today, we suggest you move quickly to scoop them up.

"The Uniqlo U collection employs advanced materials, new techniques, and, at times, features more daring and progressive shapes," the brand's global creative director of brand experience, Shu Hung, tells us over email. She also confirms that the first iteration of the Uniqlo U line, which debuted in August of last year, had one specific hot commodity: "F/W 16 men's and women's bomber jackets sold out on Uniqlo.com within the first five minutes of launch!"

This time around for the new collection, the popular bomber transforms into a weightless, collarless blouson; neutral shades of black are replaced with refreshing nudes, tans, and on-trend yellows; and wide-leg jeans reign supreme. "The team at our Paris R&D center felt like they wanted to push more airy and oversize denim silhouettes this season," Hung explains about the design choice. "We still have slim-fit and skinny options in our main collection and believe that there are customers who will gravitate toward both."

Below, take a look a the dreamy Uniqlo U lookbook, and shop some of the pieces—sooner rather than later, if you ask us.
