In addition to showcasing these fabulous shoes, we'd also like to suggest a little outfit advice, courtesy of Lily Collins. The former GOTM offered a shining example of perfect pumped-up party-wear when she wore a pair of Jimmy Choo for H&M High Heel Strap Shoes ($80) to a recent event. We appreciate the way she showed off her superb sandals by styling them with abbreviated harem pants and a sequined jacket; the resulting outfit is on-trend, easy to achieve, and very cost effective! Feel free to create your own celebratory ensemble with one of our shoe selections, just remember that wherever the night takes you: don't be tardy for the party!
Topshop Stagger Platform Feature Heel ($135)
At Louis Vuitton's F/W 09 show, models strutted down the runway in fancy frocks, bunny ears, and architectural heels. Although many of the party dresses shown were jewel-toned, the more modest black and gray versions were accented with equally enriched hues by way of pretty pumps. We couldn't help but think of those excellent accessories when we saw these sumptuous geometric heels, as they echo the runway's aesthetic and offer a little eighties edge. We'd pair these directional pumps with any solid-colored party dress to give it some sharp style, or knock out a high-powered look befit for any editor-in-training with cropped pants, a simple t-shirt, and a piece of strong-shouldered outerwear.
Steve Madden Francina Pump ($120)
This flower-bedecked heel takes a classic black pump and launches it from basic to bold with the addition of an oversized bloom. The large rosette-adornment is cheeky but not cheesy, and reminds us of some of the best styles seen on Carrie Bradshaw's feet-she is the queen of hyperbolic flora after all! More recently, the big bloom also alludes to the ladylike looks seen on Valentino's F/W 09 runway, where knee and ankle-length pencil skirts were styled with bow-embellished heels. Both muses prove that festive footwear is best when it's chock-full of character, but luckily, unlike the styles worn by the SATC star, this pair won't cost you your rent!
Reiss Roxette Animal Pointed Court Shoe ($253)
One of our new obsessions du jour is the London-based line Reiss. While that might sound silly since they've been around since the seventies, the brand's recent collections have been noticeably fashion-forward, with an exceptionally eye-catching shoe collection this fall. These animal-print pumps particularly struck our fancy, thanks to their tasteful heel height and the novelty of the gilded zebra stripe. As we continue to investigate chic ways to incorporate a multitude of of-the-moment animal accents in our wardrobe, we'll use this shimmery heel to spice up a modern suit of black harem pants and a boyfriend blazer, though they'd also look swell with a demure frock too!
Chinese Laundry Ladybug Pump ($80)
One of our most impressively wallet-friendly finds of the day, this sequined shoe is perfect for adding a hint of glamour to any ensemble. The splash of sequins is completely au courant and can instantly turn an outfit from casual to luxe. Pair them with unfussy wardrobe essentials for a touch of polished pizzazz or try them with your edgier favorites for a great girls' night out look. Either way, just make sure you're wearing an interesting polish-emerald green, perhaps?-as the peep-toe style will show it off!
Guess by Marciano Barrie Platform Pumps ($148)
Platforms pumps were seen in spades on the fall runways, with nearly every major house showing a pair. Personally, we're thrilled with this trend, because not only does it make for a super-comfortable stiletto, the added height makes your legs look like they go on for days! We were captivated by the glamorous allure of the Guess by Marciano heels for their jazzy lizard texturing and elegant bronze sheen-a party-perfect pair, indeed! Wear them with some little leather leggings or a one-shoulder mini dress for a sophisticated and striking holiday look.
