  • 4 of 51

    WHO: Ashley Olsen
WHAT: Full House cutie turned fashion mogul.
WEAR: Not surprisingly, Olsen is partial to The Row, serving as the de facto postergirl for the label’s luxe minimalism. The more polished Olsen twin (although Mary-Kate is catching up), she favors all-black ensembles and tailored, borrowed-from-the-boys looks.

  • 5 of 51

    WHO: Ashley Madekwe
WHAT: The Revenge star/fashion blogger turns heads in Hollywood with her ahead-of-the-pack style.

She also has an uncanny knack for styling pieces that sound outlandish on paper, say, a cropped foil sweatshirt, in a totally fresh and relatable way.

  • 8 of 51

    WHO: Chloe Grace Moritz

  • 11 of 51

    WHO: Dree Hemingway
WHAT: Ernest Hemingway’s great granddaughter is currently the face of Gap and David Yurman.

  • 12 of 51

    WHO: Diane Kruger
WHAT: The star of The Bridge on FX and a best-dressed list mainstay.
WEAR: The style-setter has never met a trend she couldn’t conquer and this year was no exception. She made thigh-high boots look like a breeze, went mad for plaid, and even tackled mismatched earrings. And that was all just in September.

  • 13 of 51

    WHO: Elizabeth Olsen
WHAT: The youngest Olsen stars opposite Daniel Radcliffe in this month’s Kill Your Darlings.
WEAR: It’s always a delight to see this indie darling on the film festival circuit, and this year she didn’t disappoint with top-notch looks in Toronto (Proenza Schouler) and at Comic-Con (Balenciaga). WHO: Gwen Stefani
WHAT: The singer collaborated on seven new nail polishes for OPI, which launch in January.
WEAR: Stefani has embraced many styles over the years, but we’ve really grown to love her current haute rocker look best. Eye-catching prints, touch-chic ankle boots, and quirky eyewear are wardrobe regulars for the songstress, who killed it in custom Maison Martin Margiela at the Met Gala.

  • 17 of 51

    WHO: Emmy Rossum
WHAT: The Shameless actress has several film projects in the pipeline including the anticipated tearjerker, You’re Not You (2014), in which she co-stars with Ali Larter and Josh Duhamel.
WEAR: Rossum is drawn to ladylike frocks that flatter her figure and don’t upstage her natural, doe-eyed beauty. Floral prints and jewel tones are her most recent go-to’s.

  • 18 of 51

    WHO: Hailee Steinfeld
WHAT: The young starlet is back in a big way with Romeo and Juliet and Ender’s Game
WEAR: This year, Steinfeld booked it to the fashion spotlight and proved she can hang with style heavyweights in a series of It girl looks. There was the matching Suno situation at the CFDA Awards, the studded Donna Karan dress at the Met Gala, and of course, the straight-from-the-S/S 14-runways Prabal Gurung patchwork masterpiece.

WHAT: Don’t miss Rooney’s older sis in the Netflix original series House Of Cards, which returns for a second season in 2014.
WEAR: With a killer smokey eye and sleek J. Mendel dress, Mara was easily our favorite on the Emmys red carpet. But that’s not the only place the actress has shined this year. Who could forget that canary Christian Dior dress from the London premiere of House of Cards, or the Prada bow-embellished gown from the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner?
