Suno F/W 15: An Exaggerated Homage to Hippie Culture

Meghan Blalock

As is their custom, Suno's edgy creative directors Erin Beatty and Max Osterweis gave a major variation on a theme this runway season. While seemingly everyone is showing '70s-inspired garb, Beatty and Osterweis honed in on just a few central mantras from the decade and exaggerated them, to brilliant effect.

Technically inspired by the mentally ill character Bertha Mason in Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre, Suno's F/W 15 collection features oversized floral prints, patent leather detailing, and colorblocking that all serve as an overt reminder of the hippie culture that took root in the '60s and fully flowered in the '70s.
