Lianne La Havas
Singer/songwriter Lianne La Havas is a real gem--easygoing, ridiculously talented, and innately stylish to boot. The British vocalist quickly popped up on our radar when she performed at the Moschino Cheap and Chic F/W 12 show last year, but we really fell for her when she released Is Your Love Big Enough? (We're not the only ones swooning: iTunes UK named it the Best Album of 2012.) A little bit jazz, a little bit R&B, La Havas croons sultry and tender lyrics in her smooth, smoky voice--it's bourbon straight up with a twist. The newcomer's ornate fashion sense is not lost on us either. When we invited La Havas to stop by the WWW offices and raid our clothing racks for this month's Styled By feature, she immediately gravitated toward playful prints, casual silhouettes, and cool accessories. Get the details on her expertly curated outfit and on-point fashion picks below! **Her Look** After spending only a few minutes with La Havas in the fashion closet, it became apparent the songstress has a fondness for abbreviated tops and full skirts. She paired the two, specifically American Apparel's Short Sleeve Crop T-Shirt ($25) and Tory Burch's Kyra Skirt ($395, 310.248.2612), to create the foundation of today's spring-ready look. She threw Joseph's Suede Military Jacket ($1375) over her shoulders to give the outfit a bit of nonchalance and layered on a smattering of jewels, including A.L.C.'s Ball & Chain Necklace ($295), Mociun's Oval Turquoise Ring, Pamela Love x SUNO's Cat Cuff ($200, 212.564.8260), and Macha's Rockwell II Ring ($265) in Sterling Silver. Her MZ Wallace Red Heart Perf Louie Bag ($85) added the perfect punch of color, while the snake-print Alice + Olivia Ilise Wedge Sandals ($325) made for a chic finish. **Her Picks** Alice + Olivia Candice Sleeveless Printed A-Line Dress ($396) Alice + Olivia's Candice Dress, with its cheery lemon print, immediately caught La Havas' eye. "It has a very flattering shape, plus I love the quirky motif and the texture," she commented. Diane von Furstenberg Parker Mini Bag ($265) La Havas found the new-for-spring Parker Mini Bag by Diane von Furstenberg to be quite charming. She adores its petite size--perfect for when she is traveling around the globe--and the shot of neon. "The way the bag locks is so clever," La Havas says, referring to the bag's nifty front flap and hardware. Tom Ford Anastasia ($360) La Havas' preferred sunglass shape? A cool cat-eye. "They remind me of '40s and '50s Hollywood glamour, and I love that," she says. Auden Soleil Checkmate Necklace ($1098) "This necklace is show-stopping and modern," La Havas says. We completely agree! It's a great statement piece you can wear with a simple t-shirt and jeans or an elegant evening look. Marc by Marc Jacobs Debbie Stripe Pants ($398, 323.866.3562) "This is my favorite garment because I love slouchy, high-waisted pants, and you can easily dress them up or down," La Havas says. "They remind me of prisoner pants, but in a good way." Rachel Comey Lady Top ($530) Rachel Comey's eye-catching version was a no-brainer for La Havas, who fancies crop tops. "The print and shape are so harmonious," she says. Pierre Balmain Skirt ($1000, available late February) When wearing an abbreviated silhouette on top, La Havas likes to balance the look with a ladylike full skirt. She called out this style by Pierre Balmain, noting its versatility and the movement of the fabric. Love Moschino Rain of Hearts Platforms ($375, available in May) Picking her favorite heels out of the sea of shoes was easy for the songstress. "I love Moschino, and the metal hearts on these nude pumps are wonderfully feminine," she says.
