When creating a Style Stalker, we search for women who posses a sort of style that is amazing, aspirational, and most importantly, wearable. We love the fantasy of fashion, from unusual silhouettes to over the top accessories, but at the end of the day we want to showcase outfits that are grounded in reality. With this in mind, we thought the above ensemble we spotted on Anouck Lepere during the couture shows in Paris this year made for a perfect Stalker story. It's an excellent, easily assembled outfit and it's an ideal representation of smart transitional dressing.
This example of Lepere's street style was clearly inspired by Balenciaga-as many of her looks are, like her Fashion Week floral frock and high gladiators-but she gives it her own personal touches. We really responded to the fact that there's something deliciously sensible about Lepere's overall look. The Belgian beauty usually picks a single standout item (a tasseled scarf, red tights, or statement jewelry for example) and then keeps the rest of her outfit understated. We also adored the touch of pewter Lepere added, courtesy of some excellent jazz lace-ups. All in all, it's the sort of style anyone could (and should) be able to accomplish-thank you Anouck!
1.French Connection Lizzie Blazer ($198)
We love an oversized blazer right now and this simple gray jacket is a timeless way to wear the trend. Plus, the slightly tailored blazer is made from linen so it's light enough for spring and early summer.
2. Forever 21 H81 Striped Racerback Tank ($9.90)
Nothings says spring like a smidge of light sage, so we found a similar light green tank for Lepere's polka dot top. The burnout racerback tank also comes in cream/yellow and cream/blue.
3. Chanel Le Crayon Sourcils Precision Brow Definer ($28)
Big beautiful brows are one of Lepere's hallmarks, so we had to include our favorite brow booster in this story. The Chanel brow pencil has a long wearing formula and a spiral brush on one end, perfect for supplementing even the skimpiest of brows.
4. Topshop Flat Metallic Jazz Shoes ($56)
Everyone in the WhoWhatWearDaily.com office adores Lepere's choice of footwear and we were so excited when we found a fantastic and affordable version at Topshop. Their flat lace-up jazz shoes are delightful in pewter leather.
5. American Eagle Outfitters AE Skinny 77 Stretch Jean ($49.50) in Dark Rinsed Wash
As we mentioned in our Who What Wear TV episode about spring pants, the slim fit pant is still going strong this season. American Eagle's Skinny Stretch Jeans have the same shape as Lepere's denim and an excellent price tag too!
6. Urban Outfitters Silk Lace Printed Scarf ($28)
Yes, we're mad about lightweight scarves and welcome the opportunity to showcase them at any time. There are truly tons of wonderful scarves out there, like this silk one from Urban Outfitters. The black-and-white print and fringed ends give it that Lepere look!
