This Is the One Sweater You Should Buy for Fall

It’s never felt like a more ample time to discuss sweaters than this very moment. Temperatures are gradually dropping, new products are arriving on our favorite sites every day, and stylish celebrities are incorporating autumnal colors and cozy textures that feel synonymous with the shift in season. We may not be able to layer on our knits just yet, but we sure can talk about it and—perhaps more pertinent—you can shop it.

We suspect you already have a hefty repertoire of go–to sweaters you’re beginning to pull from out under your bed or closet, but if you’re itching to invest in a new one this season, the subject of today’s post is perfect for you. The F/W 16 catwalks were chock-full of stylish iterations of the ski sweater. Whether this came by way of a Fair Isle print like at Balenciaga or with mirrored deer on a color-block backdrop à la Off-White, this trend was a definite standout. And though it may be awhile before you’re hitting the slopes, there’s no reason to keep yourself from grabbing one to wear in the very near future.

See below for a roundup of our favorite runway ski sweaters and shopping picks, and be sure to tell us how you’d style this stylish piece in the comments.

Demna Gvasalia’s first collection for Balenciaga was a major success; it also happened to include this darling sweater.

We're always eager to see Virgil Abloh’s latest designs for Off-White, and this cheerful sweater that pranced down the catwalk did not disappoint.

Not only is the print on this Pringle of Scotland sweater enticing, we also love the slightly belled sleeves.
