The One Shoe Style That Makes My Legs Look Great—Enough Said

Kristen Nichols

Accessories can really make or break an outfit. This fact is no more evident than in the case of a simple outfit of jeans and a T-shirt. Add a few layered necklaces, a stylish bag, and a cool pair of heels, and the look is instantly ready for a dinner party. But what are the best accessories to choose? To find out, I did some investigating. Specifically, I wanted to get to the bottom of this question: Which shoes make my legs look great?

I had some co-workers and fashion girls weigh in on the styles that are flattering, and the ones that aren't. Based on their suggestions, I eliminated round-toe heels. The style works against me in a few ways. First, the round toe puts a stop on the line of your leg, which leads to a shortening effect. Next, round-toe heels have a retro look that doesn't feel modern.

Now that I cut out a style that was unflattering, I was determined to find a shoe that would make my legs look great. After trying a number of styles, I discovered that the most flattering shoe is one that I've been seeing all over the Who What Wear offices right now: pointed-toe heels with a V-shaped cutout near the toes. There are a few reasons this shoe is super flattering and really popular among fashion girls. First, the pointed toe extends the line of your leg, making you appear taller and slimmer. Then, the V-detail draws your attention downward, elongating the leg even more. Add this shoe to any outfit—it's a foolproof way to make your legs look amazing.
