What a VS Model Wears for a 15-Hour Flight to Melbourne

Everyone knows that the airport is not the place to experiment with uncomfortable trends, but long-haul flights in particular call for the most relaxed outfits in your closet. Shanina Shaik, for one, definitely gets the idea. En route to her hometown of Melbourne, Australia, the Victoria's Secret model spent her 15-hour flight from Los Angeles in I.Am.Gia's Striker Hoodie ($84) and Striker Pants ($69).

Not only is the combo supremely cozy, but it's also on trend: Bella Hadid and Kaia Gerber are both fans of the up-and-coming label. After deplaning, she then changed into another classic model-off-duty combination: a leather jacket, jeans, and sneakers.

Shaik made the journey down under to attend the Melbourne Cup, a prestigious horse race that will be held on Tuesday, November 7. The event is also preceded by a series of fun events in the city. "Every year, Australians are mesmerized and captivated by the Melbourne Cup Carnival, a week-long festival with a signature two-mile race watched by millions," Visit Melbourne explains. You can bet we'll be keeping an eye on the rest of her Aussie outfits throughout the festival.

Senior News Editor

Erin got her start as a Who What Wear intern over 12 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of senior news editor (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
