Rodarte Is Designing a Line for This Major European Retailer
For its first major designer collaboration, H&M-owned brand & Other Stories has announced a partnership with the beloved Rodarte, which is known for its quirky, often niche offerings. To be released online and in-store next spring, the collection will include ready-to-wear, accessories, and shoes with prices ranging from $25 to $325.
Though the chain has worked with younger designers like Rachel Antonoff in the past, as well as celebrities like Lykke Li, this collab signals a move toward the high-fashion arena. Rodarte, on the other hand, is well-versed in high-street collaborations, having worked with Gap, Target, and (for a pricier collab) Opening Ceremony over the years.
Samuel Fernström, the managing director of & Other Stories, told WWD that he hopes the collection (referred to as a “co-lab” by the brand) will add “a new L.A.-infused perspective to our selection.” The sister design duo behind Rodarte, Laura and Kate Mulleavy, further explained that they’re “excited to translate the Rodarte narrative into a new environment.” Well, consider us very excited to see the results!
