Rihanna's Red Carpet Look Is in a Dress Code All Its Own

Adrianna Barrionuevo

Only Rihanna can hit a red carpet in a T-shirt and baseball cap and look incredible. The songstress attended the 30th annual Footwear News Achievement Awards to accept the Shoe of the Year title for the Fenty Puma Creepers, which she proudly wore with her laid-back ensemble.

To amp up her cool, casual look, Rihanna paired her matching "Securite"-emblazoned cap and tee with velvet pieces and glamorous accessories. In the end, the velvet maxi skirt and coordinating glinty opera gloves stunned against her diamond-encrusted choker and oversize sparkly earrings. Plus, it was great to get a good look at Rihanna’s newest collection of award-winning sneakers, which we’ll have to wait a few more days to get our hands on.

It’s no surprise to see the stylish singer—and the force behind the most successful shoes of 2016—pulling off a unique look that’s all her own. However, she noted in her acceptance speech that she got a lot of her inspiration from streetwear and “all the Creeper fans and all the kids in the street who inspire me by doing things their own way,” she said, thanking them.
