Legally Blonde Turns 15! See Reese Witherspoon's Perfect Tribute
Today is a big day in movie history: It's been exactly 15 years since Legally Blonde first came out in theaters. With gems like "Whoever said orange was the new pink was seriously disturbed," it's not wonder why everyone in fashion quickly became obsessed with the cult flick.
To celebrate the 15th anniversary, Reese Witherspoon chatted with Instagram about the movie and made an adorable video. She reminisced about how the movie has actually impacted women's lives: "I have had so many women say, 'I went to law school because of Legally Blonde,'" Witherspoon told Instagram. "It actually had a meaningful story. And it was about female empowerment. It wasn't necessarily about the girl getting the guy."
Plus, Witherspoon revealed that she still gets asked about the infamous "bend and snap" scene. "That is still the most asked request I get from people," she told Instagram. "I have a feeling I will be doing the bend and snap until I am 95."

It’s been 15 years since the movie “Legally Blonde” introduced the world to Elle Woods, the pink-clad, Chihuahua-toting sorority student who aced the LSATs, got into Harvard Law School and inspired a generation. “I have had so many women say, ‘I went to law school because of ‘Legally Blonde,’” says star Reese Witherspoon (@reesewitherspoon). “It actually had a meaningful story. And it was about female empowerment. It wasn’t necessarily about the girl getting the guy.” To celebrate the anniversary, make sure to show off your pet Chihuahua, law degree or even your best “bend and snap” — “That is still the most asked request I get from people. I have a feeling I will be doing the bend and snap until I am 95,” says Reese — and tag #LegallyBlonde15 in the caption. Video by @reesewitherspoon
