Further Proof That "Regular" Denim Just Doesn't Cut It Anymore

Adrianna Barrionuevo

Denim is undoubtedly one of the biggest fashion staples ever, and with designers getting more creative with the lived-in fabric, we're excited to report that blue jeans are going beyond your average pair of skinnies. Thanks to Rebecca Taylor's beautiful S/S 17 collection, new iterations of denim are proving to be a huge hit come next year.

These edgier looks contrasted with the sea of romantic silhouettes—think ruffled details and billowy skirts. Standouts included a patchwork jacket with pleated cuffs and coordinating high-waisted jeans that differed in washes from white to variations of blue. A more minimal look—a denim skirt paired with a white ruffled shell—is a fashion girl's dream, and we're already fantasizing about wearing the light-wash culotte jumper as soon as we can get our hands on it.

Feast your eyes on the modern denim pieces that pushed the envelope at the Rebecca Taylor S/S 17 show.
