This Iconic Bikini Just Sold at Auction for Almost $100,000

The world of cinematic fashion (i.e., costumes!) is an utterly fascinating one. Fans of iconic films like Star Wars spend hours—nay, days!—of their lives trying to re-create the looks that have become so imprinted in the cultural consciousness. And when it comes to the real pieces that were worn by the stars, we’re talking hundreds of thousands of dollars in resale value.

Case in point: The iconic metallic bikini worn by Princess Leia in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi just sold at auction for an astonishing $96,000. Carrie Fisher, who played the iconic character, has been very outspoken about the fact that she didn’t care for the costume when she was wearing it, calling it “what supermodels will eventually wear in the seventh ring of hell.”

For our part, we like the look, but not enough to spend nearly $100,000 on it! Keep scrolling to see Princess Leia’s bikini now!
