“I love a clutch bag. I feel like I didn't see a single handbag at the shows--all the editors were carrying clutches instead. I like the strap tucked inside or removed, and I think that this bag is fantastic for day or evening (or tucked inside your day bag so that you have a little one ready for night). The acid green color is one of my favorites. I love it with white or khaki and it looks great with the diamond print dresses.”--Kate Young
“The arrow was inspired by an antique Victorian pin I found at a vintage jewelry store. I love little romantic details and the idea of an arrow and heart give a little "huntress" feel. The arrow is a theme in the collection and you can see it in a necklace, the barrettes, and on the handbags. I love jewelry in the hair for evening--Natalie [Portman] wears it a lot--and think it's a fresh and modern way to add some sparkle to an evening look.”--Kate Young
“The leopard bootie I made just for fun. This isn't really an everyday shoe, but it definitely looks like a good time. I think of animal prints as neutrals; they look really great with black, but work equally well with red or pink and can give a little edge to make something cooler and less pretty.”--Kate Young
“I love a classic pump with almost everything and wanted to make one that had a little twist for my collection. The heel and toe shape are a little ‘80s, and I love the flame-shaped front. Plastic shoes are a big trend for spring, and the lowered vamp gives a little toe cleavage and lengthens the leg. I think this shoe looks great with dresses or with a cropped pant.”--Kate Young
“I love this necklace worn on its tightest loop like a small little choker. I have a French paste necklace that I bought at the flea market in Paris years ago and it was the inspiration for this piece. Although, Fred Leighton makes similar real ones for many thousands of times the price. I think a little rose cut diamond choker is a super fancy and sparkly accessory that looks young and fresh. Lots of diamond necklaces feel grown up, old, or costumey--the shape of this one feels young and a little rocker in a good way.”--Kate Young
“I think a box clutch is one of the most chic and versatile evening bags. I like the hard, architectural shape and the little arrow on the closure. I made one in graphite because I love vintage diamonds and the color works really well with them. Michelle Williams carried this bag to the premiere of Oz: The Great and Powerful.”--Kate Young
