Even the Olsen Twins Are Wearing This OTT Shoe Trend

Pom-pom shoes are a bit silly, and we'll be the first to admit that. Not exactly born out of practicality, they are, however, seriously fun. While they were a bit hit on the catwalk a few seasons ago (Gucci, we're looking at you), they've cemented themselves as a constant presence on the street style circuit, as well as among a few A-listers. Most important of all celebrities to note is a really double whammy of shoe greatness: The Olsen Twins are into pom-poms. Yes, the girls who tend to favour minimalism these days are even getting on board. But when you're wearing a plain outfit, a decorative pair of heels is a fast-track to looking a little more adventurous. So don't be mistaken in thinking that this joyful footwear trend is only for kooky ladies.

But there's one big question we can hear you asking: Can you wear them when the weather turns a bit colder? Well, of course you can. Just because the temperature might have dropped doesn't mean you have to forgo fun footwear. Instead, try adding a pair of jazzy socks or delve into this season's many statement tights—hosiery solves everything in this country.

Style Notes: Match your pom-poms with your bag. Sure, this is a very summery outfit, but try it with an all-black outfit, and you'll get a similar effect that's more appropriate for autumn.

Style Notes: Midi heels with pom-poms equal the best of both worlds: comfort and character.
