This Up-and-Coming NYC Brand Is on Every Insider's Shopping List

Head-to-toe black may be the stereotypical New York uniform, but these days, it's not the reality. That's thanks in part to inspiring NYC-based up-and-comers like Pamplemousse. The quirky-cool line was founded in 2015 by Danica Zheng and has quickly become a favorite among downtown fashion girls. "I want to create fun statement pieces that can easily be styled together with a pair of old jeans and sneakers for the laid-back downtown look, or with a pair of heels for an evening out," Zheng says of her designs. "It's all about the balance. It's for that woman who always wants to have a little fun, a taste of something fresh, yet still feels comfortable."

In a city like New York, where women find themselves constantly on the go, the ideal wardrobe needs to be easy and convertible without losing the something special that sets individuals apart. Which is why Pamplemousse lends itself perfectly to the NYC lifestyle. Zheng notes, "sometimes people are too busy to put enough time into dressing, but they almost never fail to add a touch of personality, which, to me, always makes the look more attractive." No matter what city you're based in, we guarantee that you'll be seeing a whole lot more of Pamplemousse in the coming seasons.
