Now, let’s get it straight: While I may find myself “adding to cart” more than a normal person, I don’t just blow everything I have just because I want something. Many online shops now have a “runway” feature where you can actually see the item you’re interested in purchasing in motion. I always check this out before adding the pick to the cart because you’ll often be able to catch a more realistic view of what the item looks like because brands sometimes alter the color and fit of an item for the photo of the item.
One of the reasons why I love to shop and am always so happy doing so is because I sometimes make money by shopping. How? You can also use websites like Polyvore, which aggregate all of the online shops that carry the specific item you have your eye on.
I never go into a new a season without a plan. I study the market and runway shows to spot the trends and specific items I want to invest in that season. Then, I identify which online shops stock those finds and bookmark each. Throughout the season, I check back a few times per week and make decisions. If I see an item I love is selling out fast, I buy it—regardless of if it’s on sale. (If you really adore something and know you can’t live without it, you won’t regret the purchase). If something isn’t selling so fast, I frequently monitor to see when it goes on sale and purchase then.
