You'll Want to Swap Your Skinnies for Olivia Palermo's Airport Pants

There's no lack of Olivia Palermo outfit photos for us all to swoon over (NYC paparazzi seem to have her schedule memorized), but there is a surprising lack of documentation of her airport outfits. So when we are graced with an OP airport sighting, we admittedly get a little thrill. Palermo's latest sighting was at the Barcelona airport, and her chic outfit was both polished and comfortable. Palermo incorporated two of our favorite pieces this season into her look—loafers (aka the perfect travel shoes) and velvet pants.

Velvet pants at the airport, you ask? Indeed! While in the past, the fabric has been pigeonholed into a reserved-for-holiday-parties category, it's everywhere this season, making it a fully acceptable option for casual and daytime occasions. Not only that, velvet pants are more comfortable than skinny jeans and cozier than leggings (two typical travel options). Given the popularity of the trend, there's no lack of velvet pants to choose from, so we recommend getting a pair in time for the quickly approaching holiday travel season.
