The Red Carpet Take on One of the Biggest Trends Right Now

Earlier this year, a certain time-tested trend came back in a big way, embellishing all our favorite denim looks. Since its spring reawakening, embroidery has become one of the hottest details to spruce up our favorite fashion staples—from jackets to jeans to shoes. Once reserved for denim threads working major throwback vibes, the crafty trend now adorns every denim piece worth having, and has even made its way onto other materials like velvet, cashmere, and leather.

Last night at Jingle Ball 2016 at Madison Square Garden, Olivia Culpo demonstrated how the embroidery trend du jour translates into a non-denim red carpet look. Culpo attended the star-studded evening sporting a fashion-forward Zuhair Murad jumpsuit. Though its peekaboo construction and off-the-shoulder silhouette made it a head-turning number, it was its multicolored-sequin embroidered detailing that took it to the next level.
