Can You Tell Nicole Kidman's Wearing Over 500 Feet of Tulle?

A light and nearly weightless fabric, tulle instantly brings to mind the idea of a ballerina's tutu. But we have a hard time believing that any dancer would attempt to leap around a stage wearing well over 500 feet of it. Thankfully, not a single grande jeté was required of Nicole Kidman when she attended the Killing of a Sacred Deer premiere in Cannes tonight.

The actress wore a Calvin Klein By Appointment custom creation that featured a black, fitted bodice and a wide-spanning white, fluffy skirt. In an exclusive peek at the behind-the-scenes, Vogue reports that the billowy design required the CK team and its creative director, Raf Simons, around 180 yards of silk tulle, which is 540 feet. Not to mention, according to the report, it called for 150 hours of labor.

Kidman's stylist, Julia von Boehm, tells Vogue that the dress is "the incarnation of a modern fairy tale." And we'll add it's quite a feat of engineering, as well. Scroll down for a complete view of the spectacular ensemble.
