Love them! In fact, I think there's something so amazing about shorts for evening, so I definitely recommend this look. My favorite take on this trend is a matching shorts and tailored jacket ensemble because this purposeful combo really elevates the shorts and makes them more sophisticated. If you're a bit more conservative or want to play down the skin-baring aspect of this look, opt for something neutral-like a khaki blazer and some sleek shorts-but bring in color with accessories, like a bejeweled cocktail ring or printed or embellished shoes. If you're more of a fashionable risk-taker, go for a shorts suit in a vibrant color, like pink. Since a bright suit makes such a statement, balance it out with patent or suede nude accessories. Another idea is to go for a sexy playsuit in an evening-appropriate fabric like satin. Just make sure it belts at the waist and pair it with t-strap sandals to emphasize the playsuit's '40s vibe. Want more razzle-dazzle? Pick up a glamorous, sequined romper and wear it with some unexpectedly downtown shoes, like low-heeled black ankle boots. If that's too much glitz for you, a pair of sequined shorts would look amazing too, especially when worn with great basics like a loose cotton t-shirt or a tailored jacket. Last, but not least, you can tap into your inner romantic and try a boudoir-inspired version of this look. A pair of silky tap pants should do the trick; just pair them with a simple or printed kimono jacket and a casual tank for a chic bohemian look that's certainly not short on style!
